Slippery Mind Feat
While fighting mummies, fear was cast on my char with Slippery Mind feat. I checked the combat log, and no re-roll was made. Anyone know why or can this be fixed?
I was thinking it may have been the Fear ability (green aura), but my char was still outside the green zone, and the log stated the mummy lord casts Fear.

I reread the description:Lokey wrote:You don't get a Slippery Mind reroll on fear effects. Read the description.
Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: Rogue 10, Shadowdancer 7
Required for: None
Specifics: Characters failing their Will save vs. Mind-affecting spells get an automatic re-roll
Use: Automatic
Then, read the Fear spell:
Fear
Caster Level: Bard 3, Wizard/Sorcerer 4
Innate Level: 3 School: Necromancy
Component(s): V, S Range: Medium
Save: Will Negates Spell Resistance: Yes
Immunity Type: Fear
Area of Effect/Target: Large
Duration: 1 Round / Level
Additional Counterspells: Remove Fear
Description: Affected creatures are consumed with mind-numbing fear
that overrides all other actions. The affected creatures run away from all
those they do not consider allies.
Then, I noticed the "Immunity type:fear". So, further investigation shows that the only "mind-affecting" spells based on those needing the "mind-affecting" immunity are as follows:
Aid
Aura of Glory
Bane
Battletide
Bless
Charm Monster
Charm Person
Charm Person or animal
Color Spray
Confusion
Daze
Divine Favor
Dominate Animal
Dominate Monster
Dominate Person
Doom
Feeblemind
Hold Animal
Hold Monster
Hold Person
Mass Camouflage
Mass Charm
Mass Fog
Power Word, Stun
Sleep Stonehold
True Strike
Undeath’s Eternal Foe
The sum of this is that I no longer believe that spells requiring a will save are mind-affecting, like I used to believe. So, I understand why Slippery Mind does not work against Fear. It only works against the above spell list.
Aye, in 3.5 it's specifically Enchantments with Charm or Dominate effects. Also note that the Power Word line of spells don't have saves, and that since the charm and dominate engine effects have unfixable crash bugs, you may not get the reroll for some of the stuff in that list since they daze now
Edit: A replacement could be scripted and the Slippery Mind reroll can be easily incorporated into such a system.

What spell was it that turned the target monster (skeleton of some sort) blue and had them aid me in attacking my enemies? Was it Control undead? If so, can the charm spells be made to work the same way instead of dazing?Lokey wrote:Aye, in 3.5 it's specifically Enchantments with Charm or Dominate effects.
