At what level BG do you get the best summon?

Is it worth going past level 20 BG?

Any tips or info on the Epic Fiendish Servant?

My friend "Albel" has the doom knight already, it's pretty decent from what I've seen of it. I don't think anything holds a candle to the Solar yet though. Never seen the black devil so I can't say what level it's available. Doom knight it pretty good though, it's got decent damage with that sword it's got.

I hope it's not like that must be 30 levels thing, kinda takes the wind out of being a summoner. If a PM take all that time to get the "best summon" they are no longer leveling anymore. At level 40 you got pvp, relics, but no leveling up anymore.

Black guard is a great class though, just one thing to watch out for. Don't have a negative charisma score. Dark blessing works both ways, unlike Palidin, if you have a neg to charisma mod you'll get neg to all saves as well. I think it's worth it to invest in a decent summon, it's more damage per sec haveing it fight along side you, and you can always let it suicide on casters and make another one later.

I remeber being killed by a black devil once. Dont remember who was contolling it though. It was in 'zons. I was lvl 26 and in a party with two others. The person who had it was Impossible to me.

I did do the search and everything I found was full of ambiguities and no real straight answers other than something about level 22 min. to get the black devil (but even that came with a disclaimer

)

Some solid info on the requirments (BG level, any feats req'd, etc.) for the various BG summons (like for the PM) in the Summon Guide and at what BG levels past 10 give more summon bonuses (if any) would be most helpful.

I hear that ppl on the server have black devils and are not lvl 40 yet, so you can have less than 30 BG levels to get it. Also, that black devil is very impressive indeed and can have a monster level over 40.

However, with 20 PM levels, you get to summon an impressive bag of poo.

it means that the summon grows stronger with the amount of BG levels under your belt...

at lvl 40, or 30th lvl BG, your summon should be near unstoppable...

you know the dev team put alot of time in summons mostly zing. im sure youll earn points with this kinda post. i have a couple things to say about post like this..but i like my job as a dm to much to post them.

i think what marah was getting at was with less than 30lvls of BG you can summon the uber tank devil. you HAVE to have 30 lvls of PM to get it...the lvl 20 summon is just like mummy dust. some ppl get upset when they feel let down.

lets rewrite the post as saying:

"i am deeply unsatisfied the the BG summon of less than 30lvls of BG can be the max creature. while the PM has to wait until he has the full 30lvls before he see's his. maybe this could be looked at so around lvl 20-25 of PM the max creature can show up and be worked up to its max. i appreciate all the hard work that has went into all of this for my enjoyment, but i feel that this might be unbalanced and biased against the PM to make him wait until lvl 40 before he gets his accomplice. thanks for your time and consideration. Marah."

would that work better?

So can anyone who actually has a Black Devil post about their experience with it? What kind of build did you use? What level did you get it at? Did you use all the focus conj/necro?

I noticed that with the build I tried I wasn't able to get epic spell focus. Need caster elvel 21 or character level 21 but with sorc/wiz level?
