All HotU spells.
All Bigby spells.
Other spells that I know don't work: Ultravision, Summon Creature III, Shadow Conjuration, Polymorph Self, Greater Shadow Conjuration, Greater Dispelling, Greater Stoneskin, Isaac's Greater Missile Storm, Shades, Greater Sanctuary, Sunburst, Time Stop (which is disabled anyway).

If a spell has multiple choices, I think the first choice (English version) is the most likely to work (i.e. I checked the spell.2da line number on it and so forth, there were a lot of inconsistancies in the game constants [nwscript] at the time I wrote it).

Hmmm, I'll try it out. I know there were several "multiple choice" spells that didn't work out properly, but I also know that one of those spells, Shapechange, is scribable, so maybe i jsut did the wrong spell.Lokey wrote:If a spell has multiple choices, I think the first choice (English version) is the most likely to work (i.e. I checked the spell.2da line number on it and so forth, there were a lot of inconsistancies in the game constants [nwscript] at the time I wrote it).
I'll try the Bigbys again too, but last time I tried making them, I had an unusual problem with them. I know it wasn't a typo problem like Summon III, and I wasn't getting a message saying the scroll couldn't be scribed. But I don't remember exactly why I had trouble scribing them.

So that's the problem. I was casting it on the table, but the spell wasn't going off. Normally in these cases, you can't cast the spell on the table at all.Death Dealer1 wrote:cast a summon and use bigby on the summon.....it will scribe it.

Another spell which I've found to be unscribable is Tenser's transformation.
Another question: Time Stop is unscribale because the spell is disabled. That's understandable. But why do mobs occasionally drop the scrolls? There's no use at all for the scrolls, except for a wizard to learn the spell, but that's pointless given that the spell is disabled in the first place.

Scroll resale prices are pitifully low. I almost never loot them anyway, if I need scrolls, I go and scribe them.lordshelt wrote:you can always sell it.
But my point was, why are they included as a drop at all when the spell is disabled?

This is about scroll scribing still, but a different question.
Wat is used to determine the level of a scribed scroll? I thought it was caster level, but it seems to be the minimum level at which the spell can be cast.
I would like my level 19 Melf's Acid Arrow scroll to do the damage of a level 19 caster, instead of level 5.
Any idea how it determines scroll level?
If it's not caster level, can that be changed/fixed?
Potions I understand for simplicities sake, but I've seen the same spells on scrolls just a different levels.
Thanks!

Well, the toolset has spells that can be cast from items fixed at certain levels. Some spells can only be used at a single level. Other spells have several different levels, for example, an item can be made to cast fireball at level 5, 10, or 15 IIRC. Because of this, scrolls that are scribed here will always be of certain levels, and I think in cases where there's two or three different spell levels available for a scroll, the level you geet when scribing is based on your own.
