yesterday i was leveling with a friend and we were leveling in ice giants and while transitioning to the ice caverns entrance and then poof my party mjember was dead as a door nail i was confused as hell

if he was seriously injured or taking fire on transition sometimes ppl die like that.

Or raged or con buffed and it wore off ..... happens to me more often than i like

Yeah, con buffs wearing of is a big killer. I once changed belts and died! It was like the belt was keeping my guts in!

Happens to me from time to time with Vrok and I'm raging.

Invariably it happens when I've been severely wounded and managed to somehow survive. I'm, of course, running for my life at this point having only a few HP (gotta love barbarian speed in melee situations like that) and find a nice place to rest. Boom. Dead.

I wish that there was a "Are you sure you want to rest?" prompt if you have your CON boosted temporarily. You know, kind of a "Hey, dumbass! Are you sure you wanna die? Because we'll let ya, ya know."

Ha that's nothing — a few weeks ago I made a level on one of my chars while up on Giant Mountain. I got beaten down to 1 hp, but I wanted to level before resting. Anyway I made the idiotic mistake of removing my +Con belt to check my actual Con bonus to see what my max hp would be, and died. None of the people I was with had a res scroll, so I had to respawn, which cost me the level I had just gained.

Beat that story, people.

fighting a big boss and getting them to near death alone with my Dwarven defender and suddenly drop out of defensive stance and lose 100hp....ever lose that much on a mistake?

Did you survive? Losing 100 hp is nothing compared to losing a level.

it wasnt a con thing we fully buffed in icegiants and then we ported we got to other side and then poof he was lying there dead we thought it was a dm thing but none were on

When something happens to me, I ALWAYS blame DM's first. That tends to solve my problems.

I had a nap the other day to heal and first action was to drop CON buff, so I died before I could sleep it off, but I wasn't able to respawn cause was asleep and immune as in a safe zone so not dead and able to respawn.

It'd be nice to see HP loss from CON loss limited to dropping you to 0 HP's, or -1 at worst so you can be healed by a PC/Pet should stop the asscosiated bugs/exploites that this causes.

IE Con buff a player hit the a few times then dispell - who killed them, do they lose XP? muwahaha
