Ok. I'm looking for DM and DEV input here. I have a high lev cleric on the server with 1 monk level. About two months ago I discovered that two hastes sped my char up real fast. I figured it was a benefit on this server since my cleric was in the Travel Domain (much like Animal Domain clerics get bonuses to their summons...a bonus that doesn't normally apply to Animal Domain clerics in the local NWN game).
Recently two folks have mentioned I will get banned for doing this. They say it's an exploit of a bug. Is this true? Or can my Travel domain cleric cast double hastes...also they indicated it only works with 1 monk lev. Please enlighten me on this. If monks and barbarians can stack messenger speed with their char's speeds...can cleric's in Travel domain do it too?
I can't get two hastes to double up when I test it off the server while in a local NWN game so what's going on? Cleric Travel domain added bonus or bug?
Thanks...

its a bug exploit of the monky kind. its not localized to travel domain clerics and the haste stacking of messenger stuff is really more of an LA bug. just so's you know that bug exploitation of anykind is still exploiting the server.....i should know......

Using the messenger job is technically a bug, but since it is something we added intentionally and since only one faction can get it through quests and other work, we don't care if people use it (the rest period in live minutes is a countermeasure to exploiters).
As for haste, its rapid reusability with already powerful builds like mages and clerics makes it way too big an advantage against other players; it's hard enough to run down most players with a fighter as it is. So, no double movement with Haste or Expeditious Retreat, if you please. Hope this helped!

Ok thanks for the info Yonwe...I will no longer cast two hastes...I'll use my messenger speed stacked with monk speed instead.
One question though...why does this bug exist in the first place? One cannot duplicate double hasting in the local game, so why does this happen on the server? Seems to me if you find the answer and fix the code in one place, both the LA messenger stacking and the double haste stacking will be things of the past.

the messenger isn't technically haste....its a movement speed increas to base movement. that is why monks get super speed at high lvls because the movement speed + movement speed. the haste is well....haste. movement speed + movement speed + haste. oh and btw a high lvl monk can't be hasted.

Bio said this was fixed, sigh. It's when you have a monk speed increase feat (monk level 3+ I think) and get hit with an effect that decreases your movement speed. Then your move speed goes to max (about 4x normal run). Exp Retreat and haste spells/abils remove effects from each other to avoid stackiness, that's what happens to monk. Don't remember if rest or logging clears it...
