Offline char mod

Post by Flailer »

Hey there -
Anyone recommend any offline character leveler/tester mod for downloading? Was wondering if there's a better one than the Novice to Epic character builder that I've been using.
Thanks!

I've never understood the need for mods to level up ...

`

DebugMode 1

dm_givelevel 39

DebugMode 0
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

Personally I prefer the GiveXP 1000000...

Also people use these mods to test out the build once it's been levelled to 40.

I just made my own, it's not hard adding monsters and editing their stats for testing.

yup. i usually set up shops, specially designed mobs, unique items, and i'm currently trying to set up a "round robin" type quest. that kind of test mod is alot more interesting than just giving xp or lvls and just seeing how the build looks. i like to feel how it works also.

Yeah, was hoping there were some mods out there with a good selection of monsters and such to test builds against. Sure, I can build my own car, but for time considerations, I'd rather just buy one.

Well, this is the Aurora toolset not a car.
Take the time to figure it out, it takes less than you think.

Novice to Epic Character Maker CEP edition is an excellent character tester, if not the best.

Eh, it's easy to use a module for leveling then typing in stuff in the console...less typos as well. Really, using the console I got to type that stuff in everytime. With a module, all I have to do is write a script once and I'm done. I have a really simple leveling module I use that give a character enough xps to level everytime he pulls a lever, which I find more convenient, and it didn't take that long to make. I don't go all 40 levels at once, I prefer to go 1 level at a time so I can choose stuff like feats, skills, wizards spells, etc more carefully. I've also got a shop that sells some gear (basically stuff from the DMG pregen NPCs, that usually keeps things balanced), and another chest with the gear you can make or find in the NWN OC (this is for characters I make if I feel like playing the OC in multiplayer).

I've never though of sticking in monsters or anything like that, but I suppose the idea of "test driving" a toon could be useful. Sometimes a concept might look good on paper, but sucks in execution.

Well, that'd be the first afternoon NS4 opened. Now, if it's NS3 - that'd be the South server. Can't even remember how long ago that was...

lol...it goes in your modules folder if its a mod file, which i'm betting it is. so just what..unpack it and stick it in there, then you will see it in your "other modules" list when you start up.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.
