Problem With Changing Into New Class

Ok, I'm having a problem with switching to a new class. I'm lvl 6 going on 7 and am trying to switch from Ranger to Arcane Archer, but it will not let me. Im a moon elf, I have point blank shot, and weapon focus longbow, and my base attack is 6 with my attack bonus being +13/+8.

Im not sure why it wont let me become an arcane archer, is it because theres a level restriction of some sort on this server ? or is it that moon elf isnt considered an elf or half elf? any feedback on this problem would be much appreciated

If your character is just as you described it, you will be unable to take Arcane Archer because of a lack of Arcane spellcasting class. With all this elven-talk, I'd be willing to bet you're from Melencia, as well...so, you would need to throw in a Bard before being able to proceed with AA.

A couple things...

- What faction are you?
- Do you have an arcane spellcasting class?

They may be simplistic questions, but we do need to keep our eyes open for bugs if you have met all the normal pre-reqs.

ok, well I'm also to to neverwinter nights the game. I only bought it about 3 weeks ago and still dont have all the classes and such figured out.
But my ranger can cast first level spells, which I assume are arcane because they are things like grease and summon creature. I thought that means I have first level arcane spellcasting. Is that not it?

Ranger, paladin, cleric and druid spells are all divine spells and are dependant on wisdom. Wizard, sorcerer and bard spells are arcane. Sorcerer and bard are dependant on charisma and wizards on intelligence.

Aye, as El Smokey speaks above about arcane spellcasting classes, add either wizard, sorcerer, or bard as a class (depending on your preference/factional restrictions) and you should be able to take arcane archer.
