Transitioning?

I think I posted this question in the wrong place before...sorry bout that.

I am wondering what the transition thing means? What is the 5122 and 5121 stuff? Is there something I am supposed to be doing? I just don't know much about this stuff, so I was hoping to get an explanation.

Both servers are running from the same IP address, 5121 and 5122 are the ports that are used to ID which server is being connected to. If you are using direct connect the port numbers are important. 5121 is server 1, 5122 is server 2.

If you are using connecting via gamespy then you just need to click on server 1 or server 2 depending on which you are trying to get to.

Oh, so by clicking "multiplayer" and going to gamespy, I don't have to worry about the port thing then. I see. So, is it better to do the direct connect? If so, how does a person do that?
Also, by server one and two, do you mean the one that says Neversummer 3.5 and the one that says Neversummer 3.5 East? I always just choose the first one because I am on the west coast.

Do those two servers have any differences?

As for how to direct connect use the button labeled direct connect after you start the game to the main menu and select multiplayer. You need the IP address (easily found by clicking server details), and the port.
