There's a pic I'm trying to make into an avatar. I shrank it down to the required size horizontally and vertically, but the size of the file is still too big I guess. Is there a way to shrink down the file size without shrinking the pic anymore?

If it's like the one you're currently using (art vs a photograph), try converting it to a gif, 128 colours, adaptive palette.

try using paint or photostudio to change the format of the picture....should be as easy as open the pic / save as XXX.gif or what ever and adjust from there....also might want to try .jpg or .bmp to see which files are bigger....
