My pure class monk cannot progress past Master Craftsman

Post by starrchild »

The post which lists the tradeskills no longer exists, so I'll ask my question here.

I have a lvl 15 pure class monk, who is a Master Craftsman in Tailoring, has over 8000 xp invested in that craft, and can't seem to progress any further in Tailoring. I've been to Li'noarl (sp), Garagoth, Avendell, Melencia, and Daeron (haven't gotten to Sleeth yet.) I don't know if it's a bug with my character, reached the limit for my char', or can't find a proper loom to progress further. From what I read on the forums, monks were supposed to be able to achieve Master Artisan level in Tailoring, but I can't confirm or deny this, since the post dealing with this is gone.

Is there a problem with my character, or have I just not found the proper loom?

Documentation is up again, but the links on the website are broken. They can be found in the forums still:

But, monks are supposed to hit master artisan, yet this should require you to be something like lvl19 or 20, so artisan may require you to be a little higher. So examine the crafting signs at the stations, and they'll tell you.

There's also a time constrant - it's 8k for 16 days inbetween levels, but 16k if you want it in 8. Imagine it scales between the two.

And once again, the sign is your friend, clicking it will say if you need more xp or time.

Just for a bit of clarification ont his I have a Monk level 38 (with 1 level of fighter and 1 of thief for my 40). I have had this same problem since level 13 and gave up. I started in leather crafting and got stuck at level 4 kept getting the message "You find it more difficult to advance" or whatever. So I read some of the forums and other posts and came to the conclusion that monks were capped at level 4 unless you went with Tailoring. So I dropped all my Leather skill levels and picked up Tailoring after waiting a couple week spending the xp again low and behold!!!! Stuck at level 4. I Tried the crafting stations in Evenshire, Monestary, Daeron, The little Elf Place, and everywhere else that I could find and all give me the same message about being harder to advance.

All the response I ever got from people were Try somewhere else and make sure you have the requirements. Well I've been in just about every area of the game at this point (sure i've missed a couple) and still have not gotten anywhere or a decent answer.

BUT On the plus side I realized this. Tailor crafting items suck unless you're a stealth thief and even then the dropped items will probably work better for you over all. Just give up, save the XP and go kill something(one)...
