Why books drop rate was lowered?

I am just curious

Does it say somewhere that book drops were lowered?

If it does, I'd love to know where this information is listed so that I can keep up on current changes

I hear if you carry 5 skeleton's knuckles and 1 belt buckle with you at all times, the drop rate for books improves by 16%, but it won't work on Thursdays.

The first character I made when I came back found one at level 3. Dont ya love random.

Rufio, its actually whenever you carry a multiple of trap components corresponding to a multiple of the number of "a"s in the day of the week.

it's been our experience that many more books drop when all the relics are in the Circle cradle...


We should leave them all there for a couple months to test our theory...

Besides, everyone knows you need a full page of boot heels to have a better chance of getting a book.

No, no, that only increase the drop rate by 2.5%, you need a page of broken books, two page of boot heels and the rest of your inventory filled with +1 maces from the store to up your drop chance.

I thought you had to have your inventory full of those avendell (or is it NS City?) armors that the trolls on Giant Mountain drop. Makes farming with my wiz very, very slow, but hey, 2.5% isn't anything to sneer at!

Books seem to be just as rare as ever, uniques had their drop rate tweaked a few times within the last few months if I'm not mistaken. I was finding 1-2 every day in dorfs for awhile.. now I don't remember the last time I saw one drop there, though I still hunt there frequently.

remember that all gear of any given lvl draws from the same pool...the more items of that lvl the rarer it is to find what you want.

uniques are just randoms of gear drops so not so much like artifacts, which are their own drops.
