Did you transfere by the anvil or in the anvil? Did you insure that there were no seedy looking characters hanging around that could have purloined said items? Did transfere get interupted by a reset(reset would have wiped the anvil)? Just a few questions that need to be asked.

2 only me.
3 no.
I put many things in the anvil. It became 25 pages (not full i think). It was locked, i clicked the anvil many times, but could't open it. Then it was opened lock, and i found many tings missing. That's all.

Weyn,
Unfortunatly for you the anvil is not intended for use in transfers. Its true use is to fix buged gear, put the bugged in, get the fixed out. Also allows you to reset 'unique' gear. Gear with the 'unique' tag have a property that differs from the original drop, sometimes its usefull. Other times it of no use, like skill bonus +5 appraise. No use for that here, and the anvil will revert the item back to its original specifications.
Many people do use it as such, but its a "Use at your own risk".
If you have your trading toons all loged at the same spot in ave (somewhere off the beaten path), you can generally find someone in or arround ave who is willing to hold the map for you a couple minutes. Still the risk of stealthed thieves, but havent seen anyone that juvinial in a while.
Side note to guilded players, have had reports of guild storage containers reverting custom designed armor back to the original design look.

Re: things missing in the anvil
The anvil is there as twig said to reset bugged items it is a by product that it let's you transfer from one toon to another. But to transfer so much would be risky at the best of times, best way is to ask some one to hold them or the screen for you.

25 pages? This is why you don't have permanent placeables players can access.

2 other notes... although it is good to look out for stealthed theives, neutral areas (such as IN avendell city) are considered non-hostile zones, where offensive actions or ninja looting are outlawed. That doesn't mean it won't happen, but it's not supposed to.
Anvil will also reduce stacks of items (such as a 10 stack of raise dead or 10 diamonds, etc.) down to a single item stack (1 raise dead or 1 diamond, etc.) after being placed in the anvil.

I experimented with the anvil myself, but found it somewhat unreliable. It seems to eat any stack of money you put in there as well.
