hey im trying to log to the ns4 server it shows in the list of pw action but i cant log it gives me the timed out message, any idea of why this is happening?

I have this issue sometimes... If it takes more than 5-10 seconds to connect, I just hit cancel and then try again. Usually this works on the second try. Sometimes it takes a third.

edit: also, running windows wireless and linux wired atm
and when I say that I never had this issue before the new server... I mean where i cannot connect then try right away again and connect right away. I have had connection issues in the past, just not this one.

I've had this issue ever since I started gaming online. Both my machines use Windows. Sometimes, not everytime, while I'm connecting to NS4 (happens on both machines seemingly random) I'll get the messege that the server has timed out. So i have to try again and it'll log right in. Same thing for me. I'd also like to add some more details. It might be due to my computer tho.
Usually, I have to relog 3 or 4 times on average before I see the server as "on line" on Gamespy. I've noticed this happening within last month or two. Also, sometimes the server looks off line on my "recently visited" server list, but it is on line on "favorites" list.
Don't know if it's related, but I'm also experiencing sudden lags from time to time while I'm logged. For like 1 or 2 sec it looks like I'm disconnected (nothing but me is moving on the screen), but then the game continues. Happens few times per hour. I had lags before, but not not like this. This freezing thing however might be totally unrelated issue.

I get this time out issue all the time, i direct connect using windows 7. It can happen up to 3 times before it lets me log in. Just thought it was my end, but seems like other folks are having the same problem.
Like opal i also get the freezing thing happening, again i thought it was something on my end. Ive tried changing the settings to run well below what my machine is capable of all to no avail.

This can sometimes be caused by antivirus or other updates that run in the background. Turn off any iTunes, anti-virus, windows updates that are set to run automatically and manage them manually, if you are confortable doing it that way.

If I dont get a connect within 5 seconds i stop the attempt and retry... rarely need I do this more than once per connection attempt.

Ever since I've started playing at work, I don't seem to have problems with connecting to the server and lags. Since I use the same laptop, my best guess is that something has changed with my ISP within last few months and now my connection from home is to be blamed.

I am starting to meet the same problem (I can also see NS4 in PW action list but just timed out when logging in) when I run my nwn on windows 7. But the problem seems to be only associated with NS4, since I can connected to other servers (e.g., NS3.5) without any problems. Still trying to figure out what's wrong here.
