Bugged Combat

As evident in the screen shot below, combat within the starting Ancient Ones Seeth Compound is bugged. The bonus I should get from my Exterminator title is plus two against vermin. Here, on some attacks I would get plus two, on most I would get zero, and against snakes I consistently got negative two. I am a level 1 sorcerer (after 2 days of playing, may I add) with zero base attack bonus, zero modification from 10 dexterity and plus two from title track bonus.

AO jobs are buggy. I wouldn't even bother doing them.

8 str & another -1 from something else

The varying values are probably due to their awareness to you. You get +2 when they are not aware. Sometimes they see you, sometimes they don't...

I would guess that the +2 vermin is working.

He was using a sling, I was on my F1end account trying to figure it out with him at the time.

You take minuses for using ranged weapons in close combat. THAT has always been buggy, taking point blank shot will not help the bugginess either. That feat has been known to be bugged for a long while. That is what Im assuming is the problem.

Well, I had a longsword for close combat and a sling for ranged, I switched between whatever was appropriate given the circumstance. Not sure if that helps.

sling = dex, close combat
sling = dex, distant combat
longsword = str

all 3 of these instances will give different numbers.

then you add in the vs. vermin and that's even more of a difference.

there are a couple of problems with playing AO on this server.

1. the guards are tuerrrible.
2. the jobs are non-existent <-- and worse yet, they appear to work, but they don't.
3. pwnd players will kill you just for fun.

...

on the other hand... if you really want to play AO.

1. join PWnD and all your problems are solved.

And people say the FoN "convert or die" is a bit hard core... hehe least we just want you to fight for the good side, be you guilded or not.
