Cleave gone wild.

Post by Rainswept »

Lately myself and a lot of people have been having trouble with cleave. It keeps happening that we kill a hostile, and then cleave into a nearby neutral. Rats in Sleeth for example have led to a dead ferryman and dead guards (resulting in loss of faction status)

You know, I was wondering how come the guards were getting hostile to my monk mix and then also at my summon on a different toon. My summon has cleave as well... this would explain it. I never attacked a guard with a KD or anything.

Oh, and nice title by the way :D ROFLsaurus

And good catch on the cleave thing... I didn't even think it could be something like that.

I know what your talking about, but I dont think its really a problem with cleave, as much as its a problem with lag.

I posted this after cleavingg into a cow, but then I watched as I killed some rats and the ferryman and slaves in sleeth all turned hostile, and I mean I was at least 45 feet away from any of them. I had to relog to talk to the ferryman.

Seems the problem isn't just with cleave, it's more like ferryman acting as if he's the same faction as rats.

as much trouble as i'm having with ferrymen and dragons being too stubborn to talk lately, maybe you're right. they are all the same faction as rats.

Sunday I just waited until reset to go to Frost dale from Sleeth. I don't know how you guys managed to raid from Frost with all that lag.

this reminds me, Bargeld, how much money did you spend during the event? i know you must have sat there ahead of the event and bought about 100 tickets from FD to Sleeth just to get ready for it because you were always back within a minute or so. i remember at one point you defeated the cradle, died, and was about 2 seconds short of making it back in time before it regained power lol.

LOL too funny, I wondered if anyone noticed that. Actually I was buying them 1 at a time, on demand. Sometimes the ferryman was quick, sometimes he took 3 mins to talk (sell) the ticket. Had he been lag-free, I wouldn't have missed it any of those times I ran back ;) Yes, that was quite frustrating!

Altogether about 600k gp.

The RK and AO group remarked frequently about how much money the FD ferryman made that 1st night.

I for one assumed that's why people started raiding from Beryn instead by the end lol.

Nah, there's a bank right there on FD - the skels offer reasonable rates.

I spent around 1.5 mil between money I used and money I gave to other raiders. Now thinking about it I should get some kind of banking MVP award. 8)

Made some further adjustments to the factions. The trap system is based on a buggy bioware function that I had to do a workaround for to get it working.... unfortunately it affects pre-existing factions, so its a bit tricky.

Let me know if the factions are working correctly...
