DMs changing toons races seemingly at random?

Anyone that may be able to help,

I'm posting this on behalf of my friend, who says he's tried to create a forum account a mess of times and they are never activated and he can't use them to post. So, I'm posting this question for him.

He noticed the other day that the race he had chosen and played with for quite some time on a number of his toons has been switched to something else. He says this has broken his builds with those toons, and is really ruining his enjoyment of the game as he considers those toons to now be broken builds and "worthless," as he put it.

I was just wondering if there was any bug that was known that would cause the race of a toon to switch halfway through the path to 40, or if this is a common punishment the DMs hand out. He says he first noticed this when he was using one of my toons (lvl 20 or so bard) to buff his lvl 1-5 toon who was killing rats. He was concerned about all the warnings about power-leveling, but was under the impression that getting buffs was fine as long as the low level toon stayed in the areas they would normally be able to go, e.g. rats and bugs, which is the area he claimed to be staying.

I don't know if he was punished or what. I understand the policy here is not to tell me about what he was doing, but he doesn't have a forum account and can't seem to get one activated, so we're trying to understand and get this fixed the only way we know how, which is to use my forum account.

He had a problem in the past where he was banned for someone else's profanity in shout. I even saw the screenshot used as evidence that he had been using profanity in shout, when it wasn't his toon or any toon he had ever had. Simply an honest mistake by the DMs it seems, and it took a while, but he was finally able to get his account back and could start playing again. Go DMs for fixing that for him! Now he's having this new problem. I really enjoy playing with him, and he is my friend IRL, but he's starting to get sick of these problems. At first he couldn't play for a month or so because of what someone else was doing in shout, and now many of his favourite toons have had their races changed. He's telling me he's about to leave the server and never play again, because he feels his hard work is just being taken from him.

His quote he wanted me to post here for him was:
"If it's a bug, I would love to get this fixed, and if it was a DM, just _please_ tell me what I'm doing to get these punishments. I don't want to cause any trouble for anyone and I'm more than happy to change whatever it is that's making the DMs mad. I just have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm reading the rules and following them to the best of my ability. Please let me play here without breaking the toons I've put so much time into. Thanks! ~Ferinda"

I want to say for the record, that I've never really had any problems with the DMs here. They've all been quite nice to me. There was one time I was added to the ban list by mistake, but that was fixed within 48 hours and with a smile. I think the DMs here are great. I'm not sure what my friend thinks, however. He seems to constantly be having interesting problems.

Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. I love the server and the wiki, I do my part to update and correct the wiki and to be an active member of the NS4 community. I would love for my friend to be able to stay here as well. He has just told me he's not comming back if all his hard work keeps getting trashed by a DM punishing him, if the DM can't even tell him what he's doing wrong. He desparately wants to change whatever he's doing that is making people mad, but just doesn't know what it is.

What kind of problem do he have registering? I know the capca can be a **** sometimees, but once his pased that, he should be ready to go.

I'll try to get his to attempt to register again.

He just told me that he made a new account here on the forum and it told him that his account would have to be "activated" somehow before he could login and use it. Then he says he was given no further instruction on how to perform such an "activation", and every time he comes back and tries to log in, is just says his account is inactive.

I'll try to talk to him later today when I see him in person and try to nail down this particular issue in more detail. I'll let you know as soon as I find out more.

Ok, so the story tells me he was able to create new accounts on the forums. He did this twice with two different forum account names linked to his only two e-mail addresses. Everything seemed to work fine and he was told on the webpage that a link or further account activation instructions was going to be sent in an e-mail to his e-mail address.

He claims he has never gotten any of these e-mails and is thus unable to use either of the accounts he has made. I'll list the names of the two accounts as soon as I get those from him.

As for the toon's race issue. He says someone changed all the races on his toons back to the correct race except for on one toon. So, either there is a bug that is hitting now and again and fixing itself, or perhaps a DM has taken a little time and fixed the issue for him. Either way, he's quite pleased to see that most of his toons are fixed and he can again continue to play them without feeling like he's wasting his time.

First off DM's won't "change race" on a PC as punishment.

We have much more effective ways of "punishing" if it came down to it.

If your friend still can't get onto the forums, have him e_mail me any and all information and I'll forward it to the right folks.

what races were they, what did they switch to? and how long before they switched back?

Half-Ogres tep? Im disappointed in you. . . I was sure up your sleve was a race that was ATLEAST 3 Level Adjustment and had -10 to all stats. But I guess every hero fails eventually
