Hell Ball Crashes

I was just wondering if anyone knew why the Hell Ball spell was causing me to crash a lot, and if anyone had any recommendations as how to fix this? It has only been happening for a short time now, but it reminds me of the old HiPSing crash. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ummm...don't cast Hellball? Seriously though, check the drivers for your vid card. You did a reinstall recently, correct?

Zoom in on yourself or turn the camera away. One of my laptops has about a 2 hellball limit before she goes down

Both Lorkar and Korr are right. It's an issue with your video card.

I was crashing like mad a couple weeks back . Re-installed my vid driver and it stopped.

I've been having crashes lately, and someone mentioned that NWN doesn't play well with dual-core processors. Edited my nwnplayer.ini last night (it had apprently gottne reset), and it seems to help (or I just had a lucky night). Directions in last post on the link below:

Well dual core timing issues are really noticeable (lots of jumping around and such). There's fixes for that on the cpu manufacturers' sites.

That's nice to know, what the symptomatology might be - my IT guys think I'm a moron, so i generally just try to just do what I'm told.

Personally, I like tal not casting hellballs. Also, Bishop should not cast hellballs.

Hehe.. it's not my hellballs that I have problems with. It seems that I only really crash when HiPSed and get nailed with a hellball. The big problem there is that I have to survive the KD timing and when I log back in I am usually dead. The major problem there is the other player actually thinks they put the beat down on me when indeed I crashed and just stood there like a chump while trying to hurriedly log back in. Having them think they ACTUALLY won the PvP that easily simply will not do.

So the major crash issue is more of an ego thing than an actual major problem...LOL.
