PaleMaster Question.
Just wondering if anyone knows if the lvl 30 PM summon is really worth it, or and I going to go 'meh'. The one you get when you take your first Epic PM level really got a boost, still trying to get to the lvl 20 one. It just seems you give up alot taking 30 PM levels. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of benefits as well, but not maxing out Disc on this server seems to be a big no-no.
Oh, one other thing, and again, I realize they do get lots of benefits. The touch attack they get has a max DC of 27. Now being instant death I can see how it can get out of control really high, but 27? With implosions getting up into the 40's without alot of difficulty, and they are easy enough to get into the high 40's spending some feats, it just seems a bit low.

Re: PaleMaster Question.
Apparently it's one of the best summons, but then I never have built a PM.
Regarding the touch attack: Don't forget against implosion you get the benefit of the spellcraft bonus, against the touch attack you won't. I'm not even sure if the items boni will work against it.

From what I saw of the few PMs with 30 levels, yes the summon is pretty hardcore... and at the very least he looks cool too ';)

Level 30 summon is very worth it. Key is making your own build survivable to keep him on the playing field long enough to kill everything first.

Re: PaleMaster Question.
And forget about the PM special abilities such as the touch attack.. they are simply useless.

Re: PaleMaster Question.
PM's aren't that hard to build. making him competitive to all comers is where it gets hard. there are lots of good all around builds, and mine always did very well...even after the pm super nerfs.

I had thought about the spellcraft bonus, and spell resist for that matter. The only thing I can counter with is I've seen implosions used alot in PvP and PvE with great results. I have never killed anything using the touch attack, unless they roll a 1 on the save.
That 27 is also only attainable at lvl 40. 12 + PM lvls/2 if you didn't know the DC calc for it. At lvl 30 the max it can be is 22, at 20 the max is 17. Sorry, I'm sure you get the math. Whats the average implosion at lvl 20? I'm guessing alot more than 17.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.
Hey, heres an idea for the Devs, they must me bored working on all the shifter forms and need a break. Make the Deathless attack be a inflict wounds type attack. you know start at inflict minor wounds, and work your way up to a Harm. You can use it as an attack, or to heal your summon, yeah, yeah! YEAH! I LIKE it! hehe. sorry. I can't help myself sometimes.
Thanks for all the input, comments.

Re: PaleMaster Question.
Hate to burst the bubble but there is only one way for the PM to go in NS4...and thats down. When all is said and done the PM's skel are will be made of NERF material.
I put the IO in socIOpath!

You might be right, but now with the new mage armor +12 ac you can make quite a nice sneak, crit mind immune sythe build that ends up with mind 70's ac quite easily - reminds me of the risen lord i had
AND you can make it earth gen too.
Good Day!, I Said GOOD DAY !
Re: PaleMaster Question.
That is sooo simple minded. PM is still something worth, on par with CoT, RDD and DD for sure. It's just not the I-win-character anymore which it was before, now you are in danger of dying then and when too, just like all the other mortals...Lorkar wrote:Hate to burst the bubble but there is only one way for the PM to go in NS4...and thats down. Re: PaleMaster Question.
my fighter PM had mid 80's ac..into the 90's with expertise/imp expertise. not high ab..but thats the pm for ya. all that means is he can't hit..but he's hard to be hit also.
not to mention the beef feats used on him like epic DR..high con..imp save feats...energy resist feats. so what if i take damage from divine, i can use items in game to negate most of that damage and be a rolling muscle tank that it takes 4 ppl to bring me down....even after the nerfs that made him "completely and utterly useless".

Immune to crit. The misc immunes plus the summon. The total +8 or +10 ac.
Pick one to lose, then you can have additions to the other abilities.
Yep, didn't think so
