Undead summons receive creature weapons appropriate their level once the power of the caster has been determined. There are 7 weapon sets for an Undead summon which are applied in a linear fashion starting from level 1 with the most powerful being received at level 35.
I currently am up to summoning a lvl 12 undead casting the lvl 6 create undead spell. Ever since lvl 1, the summons have done 1d3 + str for damage. They have a weapon focus and weapon spec feats in longsword, and greatsword, but always come unarmed.
Is this an oversight by the DM's or just the way it is. Just seems pretty weak doing 1d3 +str when a summon creature VI summons a bear that does 2d8 + str.

Re: Undead summons.
Undeads do get creature weapons, which in the toolset i think it's a claw or something. When you see cold damage added that's what it's talking about. The cold damage will go up as the undead levels up also. it's basically just talking about a creature weapon not a longsword those longsword feats are added by the engine automatically when it's summoned and it's not used at all.

Re: Undead summons.
what about having both necro and transmutation focus gives the undead a good sword?
