Re: petrification bug causes xp lose
It's a known bug. The PC that did the dastedly act might not have known that using such abilities is illegal in PvP.
This has now been mentions a couple of times in recent posts.. If it happens again, please take screen shots of your logs showing the attack and your respawn loss making sure the attacking PC's name is there too . Your DM team will deal with the offending PC..

Well I just verified it seems to work correctly now... I have no problems with using it in PvP.

Just keep in mind that if it's all fixed.. and used in pvp you have to finish off the pc that you attacked..
No leaving them there for mobs to kill.. no leaving them frozen while you clear zone and do other things.. and this is in regard to any locking effect type spell or ability..
Happy Hunting

Re: petrification bug causes xp lose
So...you are saying that an assassins ability cannot be used to its full effect then?
Why is there a timer scaling with level?
What about during relic raids?
It is an effective tactic against the rabbit defense (where it seems like defenders are respawning like rabbits). It was made clear some time ago that if you used the Assassins Death Attack you had to make sure the possibility of a creature kill was not going to happen ie; clear the map. We were also told that the Death Attack fell within the parameters of the 3 kill/griefing rule.
So now this is no longer the case?

Indeed, I must agree here. Having raiders attack, die, respawn, wash, rinse, and repeat seems a good place to use the assassin attack as a good defensive tactic. Having a group of PC statues is much better than having spam raiders.

Is that anything like the Chewbacca defense?Terl wrote:It is an effective tactic against the rabbit defense (where it seems like defenders are respawning like rabbits)?

When it comes to Relic Warfare, the gloves come off. Kill 'em all, kill 'em often, and have fun doing it!
In war, you will use all the weapons available. Use any spell or ability you have, however if you are using questionable tactics in Relic Warfare, you will be called to task.
Keep your common sense about you, and you'll be fine. Do not try to make your enemies lose xp, and yes it does happen from time to time. Everyone who has been involved in the Relic Wars knows this, and most just shrug it off.

Understood, we just want to be clear is all. I am just trying to narrow down the rules lawyering that can be used. Don't need someone sending SS's of something that has been sanctioned previously and then getting whacked for it by another DM. And just to be clear you lose XP when raiding a faction regardless. At least I have. That to me is just understood to be part of the risk of raiding.Dalan wrote:When it comes to Relic Warfare, the gloves come off. Kill 'em all, kill 'em often, and have fun doing it!

Re: petrification bug causes xp lose
over the past few days (my first of relic warfare) i have lost items, xp, gp, and nothing in many different battles.
The item loss was due to lack of gp and so the defender got my armor (and was kind enough to give it back).
The GP loss, from what I understand, is expected whenever you are in their lands. If i am oumatched, I will try to run to an area of neutral territory where the 3rd option happens:
Nothing - you just die in no mans land, just like if someone came up and pk'd you while you were out grinding for xp
The XP loss only happened 1x. My understanding is that this is not supposed to happen, But honestly, I didn't care to go thru the process of getting a screenshot and making a stink in the midst of battle.
XP, items, gold, whole toons, and even entire games and communities all come and go

Re: petrification bug causes xp lose
you lose gold upon getting pk'd within the faction territory...if you do not have enough gold you lose an item.
xp loss is something that happens when scripts are firing too fast for the engine to keep up with whom killed you. also happens in high lag.
rules lawyering is a funny thing. you get more and more specific so ppl won't try to use loopholes...you get more and more lawyering because the rules are so specific. its directly proportional to the crying also
