Disarm Question

Post by diddy33 »

I have a monk that disarms, in the wiki it states that "Open-handed monk disarm works in exactly the same way as above. Disarmed weapons will hit the owners inventory or the floor - never the attackers inventory. " i've disarmed a bandit and a ogre hunter so far where they actually lost thier weapon and both times it landed in my inventory. So is this just an old post in the Wiki and there have been updates? Also is the percentage the wiki states correct? it seems like the weapon will go into the mobs inventory ALOT more than them actually losing the weapon. Anothe question, how is the DC for a disarm calculated (resist disarm)?

The wiki refers to PvP if I am not mistaken(It is somewhat ambiguous since some of us have been disarmed by Monks and the weapons have ended up in their inventory). The DC is determined by your attack roll plus whatever bonuses you receive (AB, favored enemies or what have you) VS. the opponents Discipline check. If your total attack roll is higher than your opponents Discipline check then you will have disarmed your opponent. There are bonuses regard size of weapon ie; a large weapon(halberd) will have a larger bonus than a tiny weapon(dagger). There are also percentages regarding as to where a weapon will land (cant recall those off the top of my head).
He who exercises no forethought but makes light
of his opponents is sure to be captured by them.

Rdiing the disarm question post...

Will 2 disarm hits in a row (in a single round) disarm a two handed weapon? How does one disarm a bow, crossbow, or sling (is it considered 1H or 2H)?

TIA

Disarm works the same on those weapons as the others. My pc's have disarmed all types. 2 handed, ranged, etc..

I suggest you take another look at the wiki (http://www.nsrealm.com/ns4wiki/index.php/Disarm)

Personlaly, I thought it was quite clear... there are 3 sections:

1) The feat description and use
2) Player vs Mobs (creatures)
3) Player vs Player

You can't get 2 disarm hits in a row, as once the first hits, there are no weapons left. If the toon is using weapon/shield, then the shield remains equipped, but the weapon is sent to inventory. If the toon is using 2 weapons (dual wield) then both weapons get unequipped and become un-id'd.

Slings are 1-H (you can use with a shield).

2 handed weapons receive the benefit of the larger weapon size, which will make it harder to be disarmed vs a standard 1 handed weapon.
