Make the lower weapons weaker and lower some of the stats of the other lvl 40's and the problem is gone. So what if armor is alot stronger than weapons, then maybe you can fight someone without them drinking a pot because the fight will take a bit anyway.
+4enhancement, +5-6ac per piece is an excellent balance.

for thoes saying tone them down .. thats ALOT more work than adding 1d10 to one weapon my solution makes it very easy on the devs and is quick to implement. if we tone down every weapon and armor then the devs would need to lower all the mobs AC and HP to reflect the lesser ab and damage of us a vicious cycle i like how most things are now if it is'nt broke why fix it.
the lumi bast sword is weak for its level and a easy fix as i suggested.
the capps on damage and bonuses are good to keep in mind for NS5 however since its in development its easy to make it that way. lets keep NS4 the way it is and we can have NS5 as the less gear focused server/realm.

vary the types of immunities on Armor, yes thats armor...not shield, stuff you put on your chest...to something other than Slash and youll see more people using other types of weapons.
Rapier and Warhammer will still be seen as they are the best in class for 1handed damage (pierce and bludg respectively). The base weapon is simply superior to many of the other weapon types of that damage and size.

What I would have liked to see is:
-all types of finesse, 1-handed weapons: +5
-all types of non-finesse 1-handed weapons: +6
-all 2-handed weapons: +7
-all double-sided weapons: +8
-all ranged weapons +6
Gives a bit of balance for dex vs. str fighters, and non-shielded 2handers or double-sided losing 2 ab off the top (which I don't quite see the logic behind).
