Druid shapeshifters and Stat Books

The polymorth script is explicit, its sets a stat=x overriding anything except a temp increases spell, bard song, equipment, etc.

I even checked nwn forums nothing I can find shows there is anyway to override and increase the set stat permanently.

no i saw fatz have a dragon with more hp than me .... i asked how

he said he used a con book .....

so i got one and used it and low and behold i got 32 more hp which was my level at the time .....

i wasnt aware this was a exploit i thought i was just using a book ...

and @ banny no i was completly nekkid when i checked everything.

begs the question what the effect of subraces is then, assuming they're done the same way. does my wild elf dragon have +2 con over a human one?
Can you get +4 strength and +2 con in a shifted form by being a half-ogre?
