Best protection from bigbys?
yeah i guess without super ac, super strength, UMD or dismiss it's about your only chance (if you're Lawful). at 50lbs and only one use per day it's an expensive solution to carry enough of them though, as if they're watching the combat log carefully they'll see what you used and will just chuck another one at you (and what self respecting mage doesn't have at least 3 slotted).
ah, now back when its use wasn't restricted by level... happy days when (after selling your soul) you could get right off the boat and slaughter bandit guards and goblin chiefs before even buying equipment. but i digress.

Bigsby's....
Urm, ever hear of "Grapple".
If you have a decent strength, you can use grapple to break the hold of Bigsby's hands and can do so often enough to piss off any mage.
I am still wondering why it is not a feat in NWN. It was a major boon for the fighter class in D&D.
Oh well, you can always carry around a few greater dispell scrolls. Very expensive but, not that heavy.

Yeah 'cos any mage is going to be *really* irritated when his 1 round action costs you only half your rounds for the rest of the combat rather than all of them. a successful strength check doesn't shake off a level 9 bigby like it does the others, it just gives you one round, so unless it's high enough to break it ~80% of the time it's still pretty hard to win from that position.Mestophalies wrote:If you have a decent strength, you can use grapple to break the hold of Bigsby's hands and can do so often enough to piss off any mage.
i'm not terribly convinced about greater dispel scrolls as you have to beat their caster levels with it. dismiss or banish scrolls better.
