Oh I'm not giving up on the build yet but so far I'm throwing several dozen Firebrands at Ice Giants while my Undead hold off the mobs until I finally have to run away or log screens... So it'll be awhile..
WHOOO HOOO!!!! PM bonus feat at 16th level PM let me take Mummy Dust as an Epic Spell. I'm back in the game for a few more levels until I hit the 20 PM level mark.
So I am allowed to take Epic Spells but not Epic Spell Focus? I thought Epic Spells were supposed to requir you to be able to cast 9th level spells whereas Epic Spell Focus just required you to be epic. Can a Dev look into what these two things are looking at to figure out the difference and why one is allowed for a Sorc 12/PM 18 while the other one is not? Just curious more then anything now and kinda wondering if there is an easy fix for it since I do have 9th level spell slots but not the 9th level spells.

I tried two different times to get Epic Spell Focus Necro post Epic by taking Sorcerer levels and neither time was I able to take it. I ended up with 12 Sorc levels which pushed my Lich Summons back to 32nd level just so that I could get a few more decent spells since I could not increase my summons anymore. I am not having a problem now that I have the Epic Spell Mummy Dust but it would be nice to get that final Spell Focus increase in before 38th level. (ie 18th level Sorc {can cast 9th level spells}/20th level PM) My only question at this point is what is different in the scripts that will allow you to take Epic Spells without 9th level spells but not Epic Spell Focus? It just seems backwards.
"Pale Masters can take Epic Spells at level 15 even if they only have 3 levels of an arcane class. They can also take epic spells with Epic Bonus Feats (after level 15) provided they meet the Spellcraft requirements. The duration of the spells will be based on Pale Master levels."
I think you have to be an epic sorcerer (level 21+ of sorc levels) to take the epic sorcerer feats:
"Epic Sorcerer Bonus Feats: Automatic Quicken Spell, Automatic Silent Spell, Automatic Still Spell, Epic Energy Resistance, Epic Spell Focus, Epic Spell Penetration, Great Charisma, Improved Combat Casting, Spell Focus"

Mummy Dust vs Master Lich
At this point I am certain that the 10 extra levels I took in PM was not worth the time or effort to get a summons that is only slightly better then it's Mummy Dust counterpart. Now that I am down that path I find myself pigieon holed with what I have started. The build so far is Sorc 12/PM 21. This last level I was looking forward to taking another Sorc level so I could rearrange some spells and get Epic Warding but I found that I did not have the option for Epic Spells if I took my 13th level of Sorc. In fact my feat selection was really limited because I was not an epic Sorc. However I did end up taking another PM level even though I can never reach the PM 30 summons only because it offered me the Epic Warding that this character needed. If I had only taken 10 PM levels I would still have the Epic Spell Mummy Dust and at least one other Epic Spell and possibly even Epic Spell Focus so my Mummy Dust would still be just as good if not better. After actually comparing the difference between my highly sought after Master Lich summons and the basic Mummy Dust summons I was even more dissapointed. Here are the stats from both;
They both have a ton of weapon feats but can't use them because of being unarmed and barely any feats for unarmed combat. Sacrificing 10 spell levels of casting ability to get something barely better then what you can get without this seems hardly worth it. After seeing the post about this being one of the best summons in the game I really am thouroughly dissapointed that it can't even beat up with a Solar from someone 8 levels below me. Perhaps giving it actuall spellcasting abilities similiar to it's namesake or even the ability to use some of the weapons it has all the feats for. Just thought I would give a heads up to anybody that might be heading down this same path a warning that until they actually make the summons worth it you may wish to think twice about it.
they payoff for PM doesn't come until lvl 40...with the full 30lvls of PM. that is when you get the servant who can stalk and kill its prey with methodical force. until then its just a speed bump.
i too had mummy dust at one time...but fortunately i realized a flaw in my build and was allowed by the gods to "retrain" myself into something that would work out. when i retrained....i didn't get mummy dust.
i'm not wasting a feat on something that isn't going to be better or more helpful than the undead smash shield i have now.
as far as weapon damage...don't go by what the char sheet says. all the "unarmed" creatures have creature weapons which do a different amount than stated. just think of it as invisible claws that don't get listed as weapons.
