FYI - as a "noob" I looked over the Sub-Races and thought "Aasimar - that'd work well with my plans for a Cl/So/RDD". Banishment vulnerability etc was a pretty major "weakness", but +2 Wis/Cha was definitely a winner.

Wanting a decent skillset - I dumped extra points into Int - sacrificing Cha/Wis knowing that I was picking them up Via Aasimar.

I was pretty chuffed until I leveled up after 2 lvl's Cl and chose my first So level... thinking my Cha was 12...

I was then pretty annoyed that my "real" Cha was 10.

Not a "gripe", but perhaps a clearer explanation in the subrace description is in order.

(On the other hand - I guess I should have searched the entire forum for Aasimar first before I began the character. )

Back to the xp penalty, I have a(nother) strongheart halfling who goes dual dagger. Now, I've been told by some that the multiclass penalty has been removed from the server but I beg to differ. Strongheart's favored class is fighter, my dual dagger halfling is a fighter/weapon master/monk. I didn't take monk until level 17, at the time I was at Frostdale killing wolves. Before I got the level I got 157 xp per kill for wolves, when I got my level and hadn't taken yet I got 121 xp, when I finally took my level I only got 87 xp. I'm guessing that I got an xp penalty for multiclassing, but fighter was my favored class. Unfortunately, I guess that it still considers that my favored class if rogue (base halfling). But I also was told that the xp penalty for multiclass was completely removed :? .

might be the lvl difference between your WM and monk class that sets that off, the fist xp was before you took your 3rd class..after you took the 3rd class the lvl difference was so big it effected you xp for all classes..

I thaught PrC were not included in multiclass penalty, can someone confirm if they now are (I remeber seeing something about a patch "fixing" this so it does now apply)

one way ive seen subraces implimented invoevs dm approval and when you start the subrace the dm will modify your stats accordingly this would solve the "ghost points" and give you a actual base as it should be. the rest of the races benifits can be doane as they are now with a hidden item.

this will create a bit more work fro the dm staff but it also means you can just make one when you want you have to wait for a dm to "fix" you and while this way may seem a pain in the long run i think it would be the most effective and it can be implimented immeadatly (somewhat) with only editing the stats out of the hidden items

on a side note the above discussion is one of the main reasons i dont play ecl/ special races mutch as they are often more aggrovating than i am willing to put up with. and who cant resist that extra feat and any favored class for being human supposedly the most common race in the lands (atleast in faerun)

somehow, I don't think this will ever happen ;]

plus, that could make the characters invalid? though I know someone mentioned a subrace mod for nwn that DOES modify the base stats, but there was some reason ns4 couldn't use it..hak maybe?

I've had no problems using subraces, except for my J'ain who got bugged, a dm fixed the subrace stat problem, but the job token/bonus got destroyed ;/ you just have to work around it, though if the base stats WERE modified, then you could make slightly more powerful builds since you could take a PRC a bit earlier, or not have to spend an extra 2 points on one stat just to get a feat or two etc...

I understand the desire not to use haks, could an item apply a stat change if present at level up, or some other event, so item_drow_start is valid for level 1, then item_drow_leveled replaces when first level up is done, and then if you lose the level and gain secend again the script would see it has already been done.

Just an idea as I dont know what the reason for not editing stats directly is
