It could be a problem with your CD. Have you tried using a different "CD" *cough*

Install and update nwn on XP and copy the nwn folder to vista.

Have you tried cleaning the disk thoroughly? I know it sounds stupid, but I had the same problem at one point during a re-install and the disk has some smudges on it....wiped them and it installed no problem. I do recommend you uninstall everything, then re-install and update after all the disks are installed, but I am not a Vista expert....I stuck with XP
