Dragon Shape Question

Post by TheStoneOne »

Ok i have read on the wiki that you must be all druid or shifter to take dragon shape.

However my question is - is it possible to take other class levels after you have obtained dragon shape ??

so with letto and books say i go 24 druid take dragon shape can i use my last 16 lvl for another class or its coded so u cant even choose another class?

Never played one before any answers would be much abliged :-)

Actualy it wont let you, if you choose another class it will delevel/relevel you until you choose druid or shifter.

It's a choice you have to make. Dragonshape + lvl40 caster bonuses vs whatever else. Though you can take shifter levels and keep the dragon shape.

The spells have been improved a fair bit, the big trick is knowing what feats to go with and what tactics to use. I really screwed up my last druid build, and you can tell that when I take him into combat. They have some of the best summons in the game, and some really sweet shapes to shift into though, so as long as you be sure to make use of the summons and shift into a suitably powerful shape before going into melee combat, or get zen archery and stay back, you should be fine.

I'm happy to help.

Make sure that you get an epic summon, and the 3 spell focus feats to support it. Which one you go with will probably depend on your alignment, as the Dragon Knights for some alignments are better then others. Since more and more spells are getting bonuses based on spell focuses, you may want to spend some time looking through the wiki, taking a look at what spells you'll end up using (especially in the upper epic regions). Though as a druid, you're going to some insanely high base wisdom to get some of the more interesting druid shapes, which means a lot of the greater wisdom feats.

Hmm. I think it's best to draw a line between druids and shifters. Most folks that go shifter do it very hard and only take 10-15 druid levels. conversely if you go mainly druid then it's usually best to stay pure for the dispel resist as any less than 13 shifter levels will cost you feats for little gain (10 will get you the fear aura, but then you'll want a couple of extra to take epic shapes).

I agree to take an epic summon, but my personal preference is Mummy Dust. It needs less healing in combat, which you can't do while shifted, and it scales right up to 40 caster levels (which you will have). Also while conj focus (which boosts Dragon Knights) helps your stonehold it's extremely useless past level 30, while Finger and Harm (both necromancy, which helps undead summons) retain at least *some* usefulness.
