In london I had an internet provider. but now in the USA i cant connect through windows and I think it's because It still want's to use the old provider. I also can not delete the program that i was using in London. I'm on a dell if it helps. any suggestions would be appreciated.

u direct connecting or using gamespy client ? cuz gamespy sucks...

Perhaps your best bet is to look at connecting to a hotspot wireless provider. I'm not familiar with the US being in Australia but normally you get a carrier and use a hotspot to connect wherever you are in the world.

For XP home goto Start, settings, control panel, internet options and select the connections tab and run setup wiz. after that you will need to go into network connections(in control panel) and create a new connection, after that you will need to disable the other connections. If I have left anything out people, feel free to correct.

sometimes even disabling the old connection doesn't work 100%, if a program fails to access the net via lan or wireless, it will sometimes activate an old dialup or PPPoE connection even if it's not set as a default connection.

I normally just delete these and re-create later if needed.
