drow light sensitivity

i'm not sure if this is working as intended or not...

somebody just used a light diamond on me and i wasn't blinded, nor did i get any penalties to my attack roll (couldn't tell on the others). Similary fighting side by side without somebody who had orange coloured light item (probably a ring) produced no ill effects nor did it blind me.

Also is darkvision working? I didn't get the feat, but I seem to be able to see quite well in the underdark so i suppose so...

Take a character with no darkvision and walk around the underdark and then take one with it, you will definitely notice a difference.
The one without sees only black pretty much.
The one with darkvision will have the ambient light level to the point that you can see where you are going.
