Sorry folks, but i'm confused about multiclass XP in NS4.
Normally, if one of your class levels is not within one level of another class level you have, you recieve a 20% XP penalty.
i.e. 5th cleric/6th paladin/10th fighter would give you 20% XP penalty.
However, according to the nwn manual, your favoured class is ignored when calculating an XP penalty. i.e. the example above would recieve no XP penalty if their favoured class with fighter.
Is there multiclass XP penalty in NS4?
Is your favoured class the favoured class of your subrace or of your base race when calculating XP penalty?
i.e. is a Strongheart halflings favoured class for multiclass XP penalty purposes a fighter or a rouge?

Yes, unfortunately there is a multi-class penalty. Originally there wasn't, but Bioware made a patch that actually screwed that up...amazing.
A strongheart halfling would ignore the Rogue class in calculating their XP penalty, not fighter.
Favored Classes here give you 100 x level xp at level-up (assuming your taking your subrace's favorite class).

ok, listen up.
It was removed for a second time recently.
However, the only way Lokey could do it was to set everyone to "any" for their favored class. This means that while a lvl 10 fighter lvl 1 rogue elf wont recieve a penalty, a lvl 10 fighter 4 druid 1 rogue would.
The only time a favored class comes into play now is when you levelup and get your bonus xp for choosing your favored class.

Well this is good news...... so what about your elf example: 10 ftr/1 rogue/and 5 in a PRC --> Would that be no penalty as well then - since PRCs aren't counted normally?Alain wrote: However, the only way Lokey could do it was to set everyone to "any" for their favored class. Exactly. Basically, the makes all characters get multiclass penalties the way a human or half-elf would: no penalties with two classes, no penalties with a PRC, a 20% penalty with three classes where the second and third highest classes differ by more than one level.Celorn wrote:Well this is good news...... so what about your elf example: 10 ftr/1 rogue/and 5 in a PRC --> Would that be no penalty as well then - since PRCs aren't counted normally?
