sorry, meant to say: my 4/1 svirf ranger/rogue was getting 7 per beetle before the fix, and went up to 10 per beetle just after, so it looks like it is yes.
Out of interest was this done by poking the favoured class for all races to All?
Favored class bonus
Yay, hopefully means less processing too.
Specifically it's changing the entries for the player races to **** under Favored. The first 6 are the ones available in the gui for creating a character, they can be changed but you can't add entries and use the default character creation.

This sounds like good news to me, let me get this straight tho before I make a new build for this. So if someone made for exsample a drow, a subclass of elf. The favored class would no longer be wizard after this fix went in? So wiz will no longer be treated as 'if wiz is highest class there will be no multiclass penalty for wiz' now right? Also this makes it so cleric is now allowed to be the highest class and not recieve multiclass penaltys but wiz now does recieve multiclass penaltys since the two were reversed?
If all that made sense and it's confirmed, then we can finally build subraced with true favored class bonuses and multiclasses that go along with it. Well done Devs!!! I'm going to test this a bit since it renews my interest in playing NS4 about 300%

If you read the documentation at http://www.nsrealm.com/public/ns4/viewtopic.php?t=3690
you'll see that 20% multiclass penalties should not apply to any character in NS4 *at all* regardless of race. For a while this was broken by a bioware update, but this is now fixed.
in short, you should never have an XP *penalty* based on your classes, you will get an XP *bonus* at level up when taking your favoured class.
so in case you're wondering you can indeed make a Drow 16/4 fighter/rogue and not suffer 20% penalty. In the same way you can make a regular Dwarf 16/4 wiz/ranger just fine too.

I'm not sure about binkys comments, they aren't on the link he gives either. So does that mean all races can not recieve multiclass penalty no matter what now? Could make some interesting, fast leveling, builds if thats true.
For exsample a weird build would be.
haveing a half-ogre bard20, rogue10, cleric5
Should be ECL 1 and -40% multiclass penalty
If it doesn't have -40% with these changes that increases it's exp gain by alot. Is this the case as binky tries to point out in his statement? I don't see anything like this on the documentation he pointed out at all.

the system basically makes all races humans for purposes of multiclass penalties which means it is still possibele to get a penalty.
Having 3 base classes more then 1 lvl apart will result in a penalty. for example a rogue2 fighter4 paladin6 would get a penalty. however rogue3 fighter4 paladin6 wouldnt.

That's the bit to which I'm referring. In Neversummer, the Favored Class designation works a bit differently than regular NWN. When leveling up, or when you first enter the module, if your class matches your subrace's favored class, you will receive 10% of the experience points needed to reach your next level for free. This is the only time the Favored Class comes into play.
(edited to remove pre-coffee insulting flippancy - sorry about that)

bink, that wasn't about multiclass penaltys, and i didn't see anything about that on the page. That's what's unclear about it, no offense. In the past on NS4 I've made halflings with favored class fighter only to get a 20% penalty at the point where fighter was 2 or more higher then another class. Just wondering how this new patch works.
Thx for the info Alain

Multiclass Penalty
If this is true, then I can actually make a subrace build in ma now.Alain wrote:the system basically makes all races humans for purposes of multiclass penalties which means it is still possibele to get a penalty.
