outpost supply pack

Post by Les_Story »

I have one of the 50 pound outpost supply packs stuck in my inventory. I completed all of the deliver jobs. In the journal entry for the border patrol I get the following ERROR, blank journal entry: ncborderpatrol.

seems like the border patrol job is still making you keep that 50lb sack of well built awesome itemness. maybe the take item scripting needs to be looked at..i don't think its doing so hot.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

On rare occasions the lag may cause the supply to not drop correctly, just look for your friendly DM to help, and remember state your problem on DM channel not the "DM on?"

actually Tempus was on and i told him "i'm a lover not a fighter". he thought since i wasn't a fighter...maybe i should solve it myself. . good thing i was a LG pally and repentent of my feelings...got some help.

maybe we need some brainstorming on how to release no drop items from a players inventory so DM's aren't needed to be the clean up crew.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

They have trash cans in NS proper for disposing of unwanted items. Perhaps some of these could be spread out through other cities and scripted to remove no drop items as well. I ended up getting stuck with the Mephit Capture Device while doing the jobs in Garagoth. Now as usefull as that is to get rid of unwanted Mephits it's overall weight in a mages inventory was rather prohibitive. I did get a DM to remove it eventually but not having to bother the gods would be even better.

No need going through the trouble, simply get on the DM channel and ask "Could a DM please remove a Item's Name Here from my inventory please?" It works unbelivably well, asked once and it was gone from my inventory in 5 seconds. If you wanna RP, simply say "Oh sweet god of Your God's Title Here, I am stuck with a Item's Name Here by some unkown evil! Please rid me of it!"

that works really good...when there is a DM on. when it happened to me i just logged out for a few hours because there was no sense in walking around heavily encumbered. even then it was still a while before a DM was on to assisst me.

thinking of a way for a player to take care of this theirselves would take 1 more tedious thing from a DM that might have more important things to take care of.

you could also sell a 'remove item wand' in all the shops, just like NS3.5 has in the 'Bone Cheap' shop in the Enchanted City....

i used to play on a server that had trash cans all over the place like one on every main screen while that might be a little much... ithink trash cans are a wonderful idea maybe one in ave and one in FD. i know personally sometimes when the merchants are on strike i wish i could just throwaway the stuff so i can move on....i think NS4 needs trashcans i often see gear just lying around trashcans would eliminate that prob and help with lag...
also sometimes while killing stuff if i decide i dont want something ive picked up i put in other loot drops just to get rid of it i hope this isnt a prob...and if it is one more reason for the trashcans...

just my 1.5 cents on the issue

there are trash cans in NS city. the clean up script seems to be on a very aggressive trait, so when something is left in a zone or remains are left when that zone is empty it cleans and scrubs it down. that helps alot on the lag part.

as far as trash cans and non drop items, i don't think you can drop a non drop item into a can as that would count as dropping it.
