Lantern Archon

OK, I got tired of seeing all clerics being followed by undead, so I decided to make a cleric that went the exact opposite route. An undead killer who summoned angels.

I Made an Aasamir cleric with good/healing domains and gave him GSF: Conjuration to make sure his planar summons would be top notch.

Finally, I get to 5th spell lvl and I get my first planar sumons: Lesser Planar Binding. I put it into my spellbook hoping it is at least equal to an undead of the same level.

Then I cast it

Lantern Archon. Great AC. More HP than me. Deals 1d2+2 damge and doesnt cast spells.....

Zombies do more damage vs tree smashers than this guy can do vs ANYONE

Did I do something wrong? Not read the summons guide correctly? Please tell me there is something that can be done about this.......

Lesser planer binding isn't that great anyway. I don't think I've ever used it. Stick with Summon Creature V, the lions are much better. And besides, any suckiness possesed by the lantern archon is more than outweighted by the power of a solar.
