Summon Updates 30th Jan

Post by Zing »

Small summon update this evening.

-PK Summon XP loss should now be fixed.

-Summon Bonus Stat loss issue also looked at.

-PM Legendary summons help text improved.

Please let me know if these issues are fixed.
Thanks
Talos - God of Rebellion.

I will test the XP loss once my cleric is back from her trip...

Also, we've noticed a lot of the summons have focus in weapons, yet wield no weapons... is that part of the fix or future fix?

the latter was explained by Zing on earlier posts that it was because of the levelup script, and theese undead are to be weaponless....

although it would be cool if they had lvls in monk... ;)

-Undead summons receive creature weapons appropriate their level once the power of the caster has been determined. There are 7 weapon sets for an Undead summon which are applied in a linear fashion starting from level 1 with the most powerful being received at level 35.
-Non-Undead summons weapons are fixed.

hmm..so the first 'weapon' is no weapon then? ;] So far my blackguard summons (at lvl8) are only good as a distraction/meat bag to take hits, if I buff them a bit, they can cause about 2-4 damage to giants... if they had some kind of weapon, they might actually be more useful, but not for the build I'm doing.

My 25 cleric casting greater undead gets an unarmed Mort (capped at 15) with epic weapon focus and specialization in longsword.... do you actually need necro focus or the right domain(s) to get a weapon? I'm confused now...

Creature weapons and armour means claws & teeth or skin & hide.

These are not visible by just looking at the avatar.

So in short trust me they all have weapons OK :D

Weapons for the purpose of weapon focus, but not for purposes of the "magic weapon" spell, right? My Archon Hound (?) gets the message of not having a weapon when I cast the spell on it.

I posted the update as a 'small' enhancement in an attempt to resolve the worst issue (bonus stat losses) and have a quick poke at the PvP XP loss thing.

I need to discuss the Cleric options with the other Dev's before anything is done there.

So to answer your question directly - looking at this is on the 'to do' list.

ok, good enough. was just wondering since it is a "gains power as you do" kind of avatar like the BG fiend, SD shadow, and PM undead.

What about being able to give your summons items like you can for henchmen in the single player campaign? That would solve the damage problem and when you summons died or was unsummoned the items could just drop to the ground. Just a though.
