Druid summon loose bonuses when entering combat
Druid summon loose bonuses when entering combat
Hi Zing
Thanks allot for the update to the summons.
The bonuses are applied correctly but both my monster summons and epic dragon knight loose all their bonuses when entering combat. I have verified in the combat window that the bonuses are lost.
My cleric with good domain and greater conjuration focus do not have this problem.

We've done some tests and we *think* this is actually a char sheet bug and not actually a real issue at all. Creature bonuses also suffer terribly from lag, even when the server is running perfectly well play-wise.
Mess with it some more and let me know.
(FYI the bonuses are applied exactly the same way regardless of the summon type etc (just the calculation beforehand is different) so if ones broken they all are in theory.)

It looks like the summon bonuses disappear the exact same time combat mode is started. The summon bonuses disappear from the monster sheet but my bull str is still visible and active on the elemental. His HP drop as well as his AC.
His AC is 41 right after summoning but it drops to 27 when the elemental enters combat. I can see in the combat log that he is hit on evething higher than ac 27.
It also disappears if i leave the summoned creature behind and engage someone myself. It is the same with epic dragon knight summon.
This problem is not affecting my palemasters undeads summons or clerics summons.

i took a look at some of my summons....my druid casting summon creature 5 got the bonuses on his dire lion. upon entering combat he had no noticeable changes to any of his stats..still same ac, inflated ab with str increase and everything...of course i don't summon elementals yet, but maybe it is just because they aren't animals...was something changed in the way it gets handled from the last fix summons had?
It helped a little, now my summons keep the bonuses until the summon is hit by another creature for the first time. I looked at the combat log and could see that the critters had to hit ac45 to start with, after the first successful hit, my summons ac dropped to ac35 and all other bonuses to str, dex, con, hp and tohit disappeared.Zing wrote:Ok I've put a small update in.
Let me know if it fixes this.
It does not look like damaging spells trigger this fault, only on hit by another creature.
AHA, think I have found out why the bonuses disappear. The bonuses are lost when the extra temporary hitpoints gained from summoning a lower level summon drop below its max hitpoint.
My 13 level cleric experience the same if using low level monster summon that gain the temporary hitpoints. Summons without temporary hitpoints is not affected.

Hi Zing
Can you give a small update on when this will be fixed?
Maybe just remove the temporary hitpoints to start with. For example all my druids summons including the epic dragon knight get temporary hit points and all summon bonuses including stat bonus and ac bonus is lost when the temporary hitpoints are lost after a few hits.
This bug also affect my 13 level cleric when he summons a low level summon with temporary hitpoints.

This one has had me a bit stumped (and another project keeping me very busy) but you've just given me an idea as to what might be causing this issue.
Many thanks
I'll look into it - no promises as to when right now though.

Thanks for the quick reply and for updating the summons, look forward to see what that other project is if it has something to do with NeverSummerZing wrote:This one has had me a bit stumped (and another project keeping me very busy) but you've just given me an idea as to what might be causing this issue.

Epistaxis is right (slaps forehead). It's a thing with linked effects--if one is removed, they all are--should have remembered that from the eons we spent fixing divine power and similar things way back when. Solution is to seperate the temp hitpoint effect (i.e. apply it immediately) from the rest, that way the other bonuses won't disappear when the temp hitpoints do.
