new update and side effect
Since i updated the game i can play the game without the CD. Looks like Bioware inserted a no cd patch in it

Sweet! I just tested that out and it works for me as well.
Now I can save my discs in a safe location and not worry about having to have them around.
This is especially handy since I have other CD keys so I can fire it up on other boxes, but I try to keep the original discs in good shape so I can do installs in linux. My extra keys are all from Platinum packs and I haven't seen any instructions on how to install on linux from Platinum packs.

Yea, I found out right after the patch except I was like "oh crap, what happened? why is it doing this, as useful as it is?" I was worried that I had messed my computer up and the not needing the CD was a side effect. I was going to post somewhere here or NS3.5 boards asking about it but was too lazy.
I do feel better now that I know that I'm not the only one.
