A new and old enemy

Glorg jumped up reaching for his axe. A couple moments passed as he remembered what happened, those weak adventurers swarmed him like so many bugs. Just then he noticed where he was to his left to see Leona glaring at him.

She must have raised me, he thought. He let out a sigh she was evil, pure evil she must have brought me back to kill me herself. He winced as she started to smile, there was no warmth in that smile. He turned and faced her, there was no way out he just hoped it wouldn’t last to long.

Leona expelled a big laugh “Yes fool you do deserve to die, many times for your failure but I am feeling...nice today.” Her smile faded on the last words. “You were spared since you still have a use for me and I could not have planned things to go better. Those arrogant braggarts have not only removed a threat from us but created yet another enemy. Those annoying goody paladins just had to stick themselves in my business but such a turn of events. They tried to assist those pathetic weaklings and what did they do?” She started laughing again “They attack the very Paladins that came to help. Such irony.”

She paused a moment as Blade entered bowing then standing silently

“Do not underestimate the Lumi, I have survived by not underestimating my foe. Those so called ‘Heroes’ will now have to fight on 2 fronts due to their own arrogance. If the Lumi decide to strike do not interfere let them all cut each other to shreds then we can kill them all when they are weakened.” She paused a moment. “Although I doubt those adventurers will last long against them.”

“now on to more immediate matters, Glorg go to the giants our deal was for them to send an army not a mere handful, they bring more or our deal is off and once we crush these people I will wipe them off the mountain forever myself. I saved a few of your mindless grunts recruit more.” He never said a word just listened and once it seemed she was done speaking he quickly bowed and nearly ran out.

As he walked out the door he caught part of the conversation with Blade “For you coward I have an easy task, all you have to do is keep them confused never letting them rest take this gold recruit more of those assassins and get them loaded up with traps once they have enough...”

The conversation faded as he closed the door behind him.
