Lieth Ren

Post by Nyeleni »

lieth ren herself, left nwn; down right the portrait

Background:

Altho as she stepped out of the rift, she had almond eyes and pointy ears, she didn't have the telltale characteristic of her second ancestral race. Being of elven and earth genasi descendance, she certainly favoured more her elven mother.
From her father she inherited toughness and stuborness. Slow of mind, kind of heart, heavy when hitting, she adapted quickly to Aetheria. The only greeter she liked was the representant from "The Circle". She reminded her of her mother.

In Melencia she was welcomed with the usual warmth or coldness, depending to what circle you belonged. The druids were mostly aloof, while the rangers greeted you with warmth and left you alone afterwards. And the barbarians were a strange lot. If they didnt try to crash in your skull, they invited you to some elven wine, won from berries gathered near the settlement in a faery grove. Or to stolen or otherwise obtained dwarven ale.

In her childhood, Lieth Ren had to tough up very fast. Altho rather slow in her reactions, she learned how to get some food. She had no great trouble surviving in the filthier parts of the big town. The roguish skills helped her escaping from the clutches of the guards many times too. In the end she had to leave her streets, where she had been living for most of her life. Her mother had died when she was still very young. And she had never met her father. First an orphan in a big city and then roaming the countryside, fleeing the justice of the magistrate.

She stumbled into a grove sacred to some druids of a forest, where she decided to make her new home, for the time being. She especially liked the standing stones, somehow natural and sculpted at the same time. The stones seemed to call to her inner being.

The druids, upon noticing her, weren't exactly thrilled to have her desecrate their temple. But after observing Lieth for some days, they decided she wasn't really a danger. She was akin to the animals in the forest. And weren't all creatures children of the Great Mother?

One night however, the druids had to celebrate the purification of a new year. And thus, Lieth was rather rudely chased away. Frightened, but knowledgeable of being evicted of her last home, she took what little possessions she had and decided to move on.

Upon crossing a ridged hillside, she slipped and fell some distance into a dark hole. But after regaining consciousness, she wasn't on the ground broken or hurt, she was standing in a strange light amidst some strange people, all beginning to talk at her at the same time.

And thus Lieth began her life in Melencia, working for the greater good of "The Circle".
