I enter the Demonweb Pits from the Nexus of the Shadow Legion:
My gear, my stats, and my level are displayed right there. Now I know what I'm working with, hopefully it will be enough against the minions of Lolth.
I spot my first enemies:
I sneak up behind them, suddenly, without them noticing, I begin my attack! I attack the archer first, knowing it will likely be much easier to inflict pain on it, and I quicklyface up to the much larger and taller archer. I begin the fight by delivering a cool line, such as, "Think you can take me, ya dirty Drider? Fell out of Lolth's good graces, have ya? Poor [censored], can't say I feel sorry for you, as you were a drow to begin with." Quickly, the drider, even in it's madness, roars in anger. I start off by crippling the Drider, thus making it easier for me to kill, and quickly hiding from it, as the drider and I both know I could not take it on in head to head combat. I quickly attack it again, but to my great surprise the drider shows great dodging ability and dodges all my attacks, so I quickly stealth again, knowing the drow with luck, could not spot me. I quickly wound my enemy, getting it down to badly wounded even, however, my luck runs out, and I am forced to retreat.
I get away safely, but not without wounds. I decide, that this is one of the best challenges I've had in a while, and decide to enter the fray of combat once again. I enter the portal, quickly use my duergar powers of invisibility, and use my speed, I decide, that this time, I won't duel wield my Black Swords, as it is harder to hit things while using both weapons. I quickly find my prey, a group of 4 drider warriors, two of them using spears, and two of them duel wielding Drider's bites.
I begin my attack again, but to my great surprise I am attacked by an unseen drider mage!
The mage attempts to dispel me, but fails. Ha! Can't dispel duergar invisibility, can you, you stupid mage! I attempt to stay around, even with the mage there, however, the mage can spot me, and begins casting Missile Storms at me, each doing around 100 damage! Then, sadly, the warriors can suddenly see me, and I'm flipped over and attacked at my weak point FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE!
I'm wounded! I must retreat once again! I make it to the portal OK, and I enter DWP once again, the driders are furious that I've escaped their grasp once again! Better luck next time, you insane pieces of crap! I then spot a lone archer...Odd for a drider to be alone like this, I decide to take advantage and quickly attack the drider. The archer tries to get me, but it is no match for my cripples, sneak attacks, and stealth abilities.
Yes, I think to myself, I had brought down my first drider. It was an archer, but I had killed one of Lolth's insane minions, I had helped do my part for Ragnar's Kin, and all dwarves! To my great surprise, the archer had dropped something...His bow! I had found a drider longbow...I had heard tales of their greatness, second only to the Death Bow in accuracy and strength.
To my great surprise a Drider Mage appeared, suddenly, while I was looting the corpse of my enemy. It quickly cast an Isaac's Greater Missile Storm at me, which I get hit by and manage to minimize the damage by managing to dodge some of the missiles, I still am wounded, however, but I decide I am well enough to fight.
I notice I've been cursed, and my abilities are much harder to use, I decide to retreat after this, because with the curse it would be much harder to kill the mage, and my blinding speed had gone down, and I decide to make a run for it, before I can though, the mage starts casting Horrid Wilting at me, and I take a lot of damage, I still decide to run for it though, as I think I can make it.
Oh no! I've been bigsbied, and I'm stunned! There's no way I can get out of this! I keep trying to hide, but my body doesn't want to respond!
I eventually got killed by the mage...I still feel I did my part for the dwarven war effort, and I hope to go back to the Pits and kill more Driders tomorrow.
Also, Helm wanted a mention of how he smited me...Oddly enough, he had nothing to do with this.
