Why even play NS4?

the past few days have had me asking that question. having a lvl 4 sorc and not being able to lvl because i always get killed in my own town sucks so i went outside of town still just to get killed by other players.

i shout a complant and the responses i get are log off and play somewhere else , or deal with it , or stay in town for protection , or its what the game is for

personally i think higher lvl chars killing and forcing low lvl chars off the server is pretty crappy.

if you ask me this should be considered greif play and punished

Personally (believe it or not!!) I very rarely have problems with people pk'ing me. Try playing Northern Coalition, it's so damned far from any other faction that most of them don't bother coming to kill our n00b's.

I would suggest trying another faction. Some factions attract different types of players. NC has a bunch of good players in it. Factions like MA/SL and LA seem to have the most pk players. Players who will kill their own faction.

Most players are cowards. Once you level up they will leave you alone. If you have a high level character hardly anyone tries to kill you. Once they see your effortless its open season.

Come to TC or NC my friend. In TC we help each other out and generally make sure everyone is taken care of.

haven't seen anyone in TC PK each other that was a member of the faction.

it took me 1 day to get to lvl 4 but now ive been trying to get to lvl 5 for 3 days now

Personally I got to the point that I don't care anymore if I get killed by another player. (though I understand it's difficult to cope with)

It also depends on how you get killed, some players humiliate you, others are more 'professional'.
You can always get revenge

btw, trying another faction is always a good idea. I have chars now in RK, AO en LA and I prob will try NC too. Don't forget it's still beta ... I'll choose my final faction when I've tried them all out.

You don't lose XP when you respawn, and I highly doubt that every time you leave your faction you get PKed. Have some patience and keep going at it...

Once you hit level 5 you get access to a new gear set and can adventure in new areas.

Or try the RP route, ask some higher level members in your faction for protection and offer them some GP for it. There are always RPers willing to help out new players in any factions.

Or... When you see a hostile attacking, you can bow down and beg forgiveness for being in their way. Offer GP for your life, I'd say 75% of the time the attackers will get a kick out of it and leave you alone.

From what little time I've been able to play so far, it does have its boring moments, and its interesting moments.

Except for the pk, I've like it so far.

and so should you i assume you play cleric or sorc
but i also assume u'll be denying that.
and i have say 10mins. thats good for the intro.
so i assume you now know how much time i have a week for ns4.

Play a different faction If you are playing in the MA/SL server expect to be killed by some amrauding LAer.. If u play LA, expect to be killed by some maruading MA SL people.. the nice no pking people tend to be up north in milencia and Daeron..

I don't know the situation of other factions, but i am AO and never had much problems with pk. I usually go to NC territory to slay some undeads ('cause AO area after lvl 8-9 don't give really any worth xp i had to move to other factions areas

) and so far didn't even had problems there, but once a cleric threatening me 'cause he tought i was there to kill noobs

Personally i never attack first, both 'cause i am a good aligned follower of Tempus, so i see his doctrine something like "war is a necessity but must always be the last choice", and 'cause i don't like to kill people lower level than me, or being killed by a same level cleric or sorc or wizard due to the actual difference between casters and no casters

And anyway i think that we all are here to have fun and test, and most of time pk isn't fun at all and i don't want to ruin other players game experience.
Maybe try to join another faction, i think that NC is good enough, if you don't want to play a sorcerer or wizard at least.
