According to the spell description Darkfire is only supposed to work on non-magical weapons, and from what I remember it also doesnt work with Greater Magic Weapon spell. I suppose this was changed, but doesnt this make it a little over-powered.

At lvl 15 a cleric with Greater Magic Weapon and darkfire can make a +5 weapon, with up to +10 fire damage, plus the bonuses on the weapon itself. Spell effects on weapons are not dispellable and both spells last a long time at lvl 15.

Also take note the available weapons at lvl 15. I should add that the highest lvl I have reached is 11 and I dont know what weapons are avaialbe at higher lvls but seeing that power of items seems to increase at regular intervals i doubt it will be +5 (this is a guess, please correct me if Im wrong). It seems clerics would have a much better weapon than anybody of the same lvl.

The truth is I dont really mind if this was changed or left alone, I was just wanted to know if this is really what the devs intended or if this was an oversight. Like somebody once said, you cant be a powergamer if you dont know the rules.

One more thing, please don't drag this thread in the melee vs caster debate that going on in the forums, I wouldnt touch that one with a 10ft pole. All I have to say about that is look at my signature.

i dont think the enhancement bonus is such a big deal, at level 15 you will have a tiny bit of extra damage from it which by that time shouldnt make or break any battle (even with the extra ab) and additionally, it helps to counter spells that give mages huge damage reduction.

as for darkfire, i haven't had much experience with it in ns4 myself. but what i would say is if it seems like its a problem, then the duration should maybe be lowered.

hmm do i foresee spells doing .1 damage in the future?
stop nerfing and make them better instead.
the quickest fix is always to nerf them. =D

If you aren't allowed stacking elemental shield, acid sheath, and death shroud (or whatever it is), then not being able to stack darkflame and greater magic weapon would make sense.

Keen edge should be allowed to stack however.

Did i just read that Gil is advocating a +5 magical sword at lvl 15 for clerics? WTF dude? ( in a jesting manner :D) Not but one post ago did you argue that the magic in this server is too high, and now your arguing that a lvl 15 cleric is okay with having a +5 sword? Flip flopper :D

My question is why is it that clerics can have +5 weapons at lvl 15 yet rangers at lvl 9 get the worst item spread ever if they want to be an archer. It breaks down that they only get 1d8 arrows (BS!) and a bow that is +1 mighty +1 ab and 1d8 critical (Useless). Yte a cleric with darkfire and magic weapon can have weapons that far surpass this.

Once again the tanks are being Escrewed by the game. If you want people to be archers....give them better weapons.

As for the cleric stuff.

STOP NERFING ON MY TURF! :D

Who cares?? I think it's nice way of doing buffs... +10 fire dmg and +5 enchanment.. It's good !!

yeah, rangers aren't great at early levels on this server imo. Better than fighters i'd say(with summons and stuff like that), but not anything amazing. Ati, once you get improved crit rapier and lvl13 items along with the arrows, things get a little better. But what bugs me is i do more dmg in melee, have more ac, and don't suffer aoop, while i've focused on archery. It'd prolly even out the dmg some if i had a good amount of AA lvls, but i'm still a bit peeved.

well concidering i got a lv 21 cleric, and its based on melee mostly. its saves are horrible but with all spells casted i get a ac of 40 and a ab of 40 with an average dmg with tagnars blade of 30 and crits of 60.....tbh this is not so much diff then a fighter with the drawback i got less hp. but i can cast rezzes or a pet.

all in all there is not much change. a fighter of the same level is if i do not use spells more lethal then a cleric at that level. concidering it is only melee vs melee.

why make a battle cleric? cause my saves are higher then a fighter that lv wich makes it possible for me to kill casters npc's easier.

then again a lv 17 wiz/sorc still kills me with a finger of death ^^

well this doesnt apply for bows but if u are so jealous of these 2 buffs find a cleric friend and get him to make u 10 scrolls of each...if ya got one lvl of arcane class ull be able to buff away:D
if you dont then u better party up with a cleric lol

Dont think youre able to make scrolls of this spells. I couldnt make it from flame weapon. And I guess greater weapon is considered to be a non scribable spell too.

You can make scrolls of both these spells, however only clerics can use the darkflame scrolls.

For gear the enchantement progression 'till lvl 16 is the following: +1 at 9th level, +2 at 13, +3 and keen at 16. I didn't find any shop with the imbued mithril weapons (the +3 keen ones) but only founded them dropped.

So, now, i really think that Greater Magic Weapon and magic vestment should be toned down on the enanche bonus. I mean, gear is all that a fighter can rely on. There is no way for a fighter to hurt a caster with stoneskin with the low enanched weapons he can get around. I don't think that a cleric should have this advantage on the fighter too, they already have too much. As now NS4 risks to be woth playing only with clerics, or caster of other kind.

Yeh, it's not like a fighter's massive amount of feats, greater number of attacks, higher base ab, more hp's mean anything, that's all just for decoration...

This "boohoo... it needs nerfing!" is starting to get pathetic.

Less with the nerfing and more with the enhancement of "deprived" classes.

I don't want nerf, i want decent gear for tanks to keep up with casters and don't be useless in a party :P
More attacks than a cleric? No way, he can buff and get as much attacks as me. And higher ab and base damage. And same hps. And still a fighter will do soooo low damage with the current immunities on gear, wile a cleric will do more dmg with all his buffs.
