Dm's fully healing your opponents
Dm's fully healing your opponents
Ok, I'm sure that whoever did this might have fond it humorous, but at some point it needs to end. If I am getting frustrated enough about it to send a dm channel message and later a shout, then perhaps its time to stop messing with me. I know for a fact that a cr 20 creature (the flamedancer gnoll) can't FULLY HEAL itself 12 times throwin in a few minor cures in there along the way just for S&G. My character one on one after my spells expire is crap. I was only doin 7-8 damage tops to it and it would fully heal every time it got to badly injured or near death. I was hoping to kill the ONE F'ing gnoll so I could try and fight gnork solo, but some dm thought it would be time to screw around.
Alright now that I'm done venting, I'm going to log back in and see if the dm in question is still on.

I"m feeling much better about it now, but if it was not a dm healing it then it was a dm who gave it the abilty to FULLY heal itself from near death 12 times while I was fighting it. And like I said it in the post I can solo there fine, but only buffed.
I chased gnork and I thought all of his cronies away and invis'd so they stopped chasin me, then went back through sniping one by one. I pulled in an archer and two flamedancer's, which went down, not as quickly as when I'm buffed, and I was going to rest after the last flamedancer. That's when the heal's started, so I know I could have taken it given time, but serioulsy 55 minutes (after I got upset and started watching minutes dwindle by) and that many heals later for the one flamedancer, I was steaming.
But like I said I logged went back in, the area was the same as b4 and the flamedancer went down easily. Perhaps it was a glitch where whatever spells he was casting didn't go away from memory, but whatever it was, it had me heated.

And this bothered you?
I would get concerned when you have killed the Chief and all his peons, looted the chest and are a bit over weight, down on heals potions and healing kits, your weapon has a dull edge, then as you start to walk out of the Chief's area, the "wall door" slams shut and locks in your face.
Then a real battle starts with all kinds of beasts that you have never seen in the pits appear in your way to do battle with you. Servive the battle, get honored by the gods, die and your brought back to life, get to watch the "wall door" unlock and open, your now allowed to walk out with your head hanging in shame.
FlameDancers healing, kd, kd, kd, kd, kd = dead.

Well honestly I think those kinda things happen randomly, maybe that flame dancer spawned with extra heals or something. I have noticed when fighting flamedancers wasnt so bad, til i hit the spawn where the boss is. They seem to disspell right away, plus use a lot of spells on ya.
I will give u an example of being random: I was lvling in ordean caves one time, I killed the ogres in the area, then an ice walker popped out cause i never had true seeing, but he used a couple spells on me and I was in pretty much good shape til all of a sudden he pulled out a scroll, LOL, wasnt funny at the time tho. He used wail of banshee and killed me. I really thought it was a dm. I just think its kinda kool now cause u really never know what to expect . No matter where u r.

my favorite is in Earth, where its not uncommon to see TWO earth bosses + all of their minions (ie double spawn). Happens with Ragnar, too. Good times ... good times ...
But i hear you, man, and I feel your pain. Can be frustrating, but a wise man (DD) said it's not the destination, it's the journey that's important.
