Soloing and decent XP...
Soloing and decent XP...
I don't play on parties very often. First, most of the people on this server have been here forever and I really dislike being some know-nothing, and secondly, I can't always play for huge periods of time.
I'm trying to get a list of areas, and I understand the XP won't be as good, but I need to know where people can solo. I'm Lv. 23 right now and the Arctic Wolves in the Frozen Reach are now only giving me 22 XP. Plus I get really ticked off spending literally 50 hours grinding in one area. I about wanted to rip my hair out during the Mountain Trail slog.
Is there anything else a Lv. 23 Paladin can do besides Frozen Reach without a party? I tried the Sunken Isle but I got crushed.
Also, some suggestions for "soloable" areas for later levels would help, too.

Vendetta.
Well as a paladin you might try the Icy Crypt. Bless your wpn and take it slow and you should go ok.
It is hard as a fighter-type to solo because you don't have those get out of jail cards like area affect spells, quick kills etc. to make the experience literally fly by. The classes that can do suffer in other areas and hit xp walls just the same where they start needing cooperation. That's what the epic areas are about - partying up.
You just have to take it slow and once you are 21+ you really ought to try and find even one person to party with that complements your build and do some of the elemental planes earth being the easiest and water the most difficult.

Do the Ice Troll cave, it's not very large though, 2 areas. Use a weapon with fire damage plus put defeaning clang on it. Hopefully you also have divine might. Also cast aura of courage on yourself to do damage to them when they hit you (it's modified here). As always, try to fight just one at a time, lure with a missle weapon. Don't be afraid or ashamed to run out and rest and rebuff when needed. At level 25 or 26 you should be able to handle the Efreets. Have some cold immune armor and shield plus bludg protection. Fights may still be a little slow but better xp than the wolves. Sorry for the totally worthless answer someone else gave you. If you can get one or two others you could do Efreets now and move up to ice giants in a couple levels.
Adapt or die.

Ice trolls is a fairly low-impact zone to go through once you're sick of wolves. Then move on to efreets/icy crypt and then ice giants. Once you're not getting good xp there, try moving to Amazons.
...and if it makes you feel any better, my main toon is still lvl 35 and I've been playing a good long while now.
**EDIT** Woah...uh, jinx, Charles I!

You can do ice giants and efreets at low 20's. Just remember to take it slow and control your ego.
Efreets are the easier of the two. If you go there, remember to suit up in lots of cold resist gear. They are a lot like wolves but they hit harder. Look for choke points; there are lots in there. The entrance is the hardest part; get past that and you're home free.
If you're going to do giants, make sure you have gear with slash AND pierce immunities either slash or pierce resits. Those warriors hurt if you're not properly equipped.
Remember to take it slow. I've solo'd through efreets at 20, the first room of giants at 21, and the the second room of ice giants at 25.
You may also want to look into amazons, but I haven't solo'd there at low levels in a while so not much advice to give.
Wherever you go, make sure you suit up properly, you'll need it.

Don't be afraid to shout that you're LFG (though don't say where you are), even if you're only on for 30 minutes. Bosses and areas are usually reasonably accessible, so it's not considered a major sin to bail on a party.
Do try to get into a group going into Sunken because there's some great gear (especially plate armour, tower shields and helms) if you can kill the bosses down there.

This may not be very helpful, and I apologize if it is not. If you get bored with FD, as most of us do, then you are at a good level to simply explore the many maps and search out new areas. Check out the world map on the wiki at: http://www.nsrealm.com/ns4wiki/index.php/Aetheria_Map and search out areas new to you. There are also areas in the underdark and other faction cities that are there for the mauling. Since you are a pali try seeking out SL and lay waste to the evil of the city for example. When I get bored I take a moderate level toon and just seek out on a map searching quest. I still find some new areas and I know there are many more I have not seen yet.
Just a thought.

Glad some of the community helped you out, just takes some time on the server some builds are better at soloing then others - if you really want to solo make a cleric build
)
The highest toon i ever had was a 39 cleric and i did a whoping amount of it solo - well just me and me balor and some hefty implode dc *hint hint*
enjoy the server m8 - tis the best ive seen!

Really, soloing is fine up until you hit the planes, then the XP really slows down (except for particular builds) - but to speed things up, all you really need is a simple party of 2, with complimentary abilities..
ie: Cleric & Bard, WM & Cleric/Bard, WM & Mage, Bard & Mage, SD & Bard, Ranger & Bard, etc... I've done -ALL- the planes with some of those combos and in all cases, barley ever need to down a pot.
