Wold it not make sence if weapon masters were able to obtain master artisan in martial and exotic crafting? Just a thought.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

I love Weapon Masters and I love crafting. However, I disagree with your suggestion. Attaining the rank of Weapon Master is an arduous process requiring years of training and discipline. Just look at the number and type of prerequisites you have to fulfill. Crafters are in the same boat. To learn your craft takes patience and years of training as evident by the amount of XP and Gold you invest to obtain Master Artisan status.
You cannot possibly do both with the same character.
By the way:
Glognar Kiforge [DW] = Weapon Master
Glognar Axeforge [DW] = Master Artisan Exotic Weapon Crafter
Believe me, I would have loved being able to do both with one character, but it just doesn't make sense to me from a roleplaying aspect.

actually i disagree with you there. the idea of the ultimate weapon master who finally crafts his own special weapon is such a common legend that it's bad rp NOT to allow weapon masters to craft.cely wrote: Believe me, I would have loved being able to do both with one character, but it just doesn't make sense to me from a roleplaying aspect.
think of the stories where the hero forges their uber weapon on some mountaintop.
if it's possible scriptwise, the best option would be to allow weapon masters to attain MA for crafting any weapon they have as a Weapon of Choice (i.e. let wm levels stack for the purpose of creating and upgrading that item).

I would agree, but only on weapons of choice...and that may be too much scripting.disastro wrote:if it's possible scriptwise, the best option would be to allow weapon masters to attain MA for crafting any weapon they have as a Weapon of Choice (i.e. let wm levels stack for the purpose of creating and upgrading that item).
...though most great warriors don't make their own. Conan, Aragorn, etc.

Letting WM's be able to craft their focus weapon makes sense.
Maybe even allowing them to craft that single weapon but with bonuses would be an added idea.
Giving their weapon +1dmg/crafting level would be an idea.
It would be added physical dmg of a different type than the base dmg type on the weapon.
Short Sword would be whatever it is normally, but have +X slashing dmg that is equal to the crafting level.
Maybe add a script in that allows only weapon masters of that weapon type to use the special WM crafted weapons.
i.e. only a shortsword WM can use a WM crafted shortsword.

There are a few different interpretations of that video. If taken literally, yes that's supposed to be Nasher forging his own sword. However, he was neither a good swordsmith nor fighter and some would argue he was an even worse leader.frogofpeace wrote:Yeah look at the startup animation for NWN - isn't that - oh what's the head guy of Neverwinter's name? He was trying to fix it because it got bent while he was fighting the minotaur.frogofpeace wrote:Yeah look at the startup animation for NWN - isn't that - oh what's the head guy of Neverwinter's name? Nasher? - forging his own sword?

I'll say. Put a loonie, over-emotional elf with more baggage than the DCN mules in charge of saving your city from a plague? No thanks.
Also: who didn't know that Desther was behind the whole thing from about the middle of act 1? Yeah...thought so...
