Has there been a rules change?

When last this was discussed on the forums

http://www.nsrealm.com/public/ns4/viewtopic.php?t=6073

it was determined that relogging a character even after a failed relic raid would be allowed as long as you didn't engage anyone that helped defeat you previously. As a SD I re-raided LA after succcesfully raiding the LA cradle with another character. I was hiding by the cradle waiting for it to respawn and was ported out to Avendel and told that this was not allowed. Poet who had been leveling during the most recent raid, logged someone else in near the cradle but was ported out as well. The DMs really need to decide on what is and isn't allowed in these situations since others have been re-logging raiders to raid against us even after Failed attempts. This is an on-going problem and I will live by whichever ruling is decided upon but it has to be the same rule for all the DMs to enforce and the players to follow.

On a slightly different note I had a character log a lower level toon to attack me after being defeated because the commandments in the journal still say "Higher level character". I thought this was something that was intended to be changed to "any character". Alot of strife and drama come from the misinterpatation of the rules or rules being enforced in different ways.

aye, i do like Yonwe's proposed plan, as i had stated in that thread... i have no problem admitting that i have slipped up about the not instigating the fight tho..... but common sense will tell us that a battle is inevitable anyways.....and from my experiences, it seems that players themselves are understanding of each other when it comes to these technical rules; and personally, it doesnt phase me if an individual was to relog to raid and come right at me every time...their goal is to get their relic back and they would be wise to use all of their available resources (relogging different toons) to achieve their goal.... if one strategy fails, you must look to other options that are available to you. :)

edit: mloki beat me to the link ! :P

You relogged to raid. period. Earlier late afternoon, you even battle logged. All I did was port you to Avendell and asked you to take a 10 mins breather.

Locked, because this is yet again something that should have been PM to a head DM (Yonwe, in this case), since that *is* the way to go if you disagree with a DM's ruling.

But of course, you seem to have a hard time understanding this. 8)

Oh - and I have *all* the screenshots. Ready to show them *all*, not just some selective ones ...

*I have been quiet but*

Not even reading through everything... but how many hundreds of times must it be posted?

If you have a disagreement with a DM send a PM to Yowne (acting DM) Netrom (lead DM) DM Fire (lead DM for all NS) TGPO DD (our glorious master)

Trying to make a post that causes more of the same flame wars from 20 different people will never be helpful.

If there is a reasonable issue and anyone takes a minute to PM the lead DMs it will be looked at, you may not always get the answer you want but we actually do re-review things but going this route does not help anyone player, DM, Dev, New arrivel, etc.

One last little rant- Let comon sense rule on what the rules say, is it really fair to make the staff think of every possible situation and post a ruling on it?

if you want rules...going after the relics in the first place is a hostile act. your taking something that is yours/not yours from someone else. relogging to get a better char that can handle the situations you didn't plan on in the first place is what is not liked.

if you can't have the foresight to see that your going to lose or be unable to fill the greed in your heart then its your own fault. relogging is not allowed....don't do it, don't get caught doing it, don't argue with a dm that watches you do it.

all DM complaints should be kept to those that need to know. if you insist on putting your feelings in the open alot of bad things could be construed from it. trying to flame a dm on the open forums is wholly intolerated and gets a discussion locked fast.

re-opening multiple threads of a locked post is frowned upon. why do it if the first one wasn't going anywhere? if the first...or even second in this case...gets locked why do you think that the third won't get locked either?

use common sense ppl, not everything is black and white all the time.
