massive xp lose
ok i dont wanna wine or complain but i dont mind loosing the odd 3000 xp to a crash but i just lost 26000xp i think that is way beyond a joke in anyone language. now i know the rule is no giving back items and xp with a crash but i had used my book and rested many times before the crash, i would say this is prob a 1 of but on a ecl3 charrie 26k is a big swag of time.
i would like some feed back please

logging off is the only true way i think that your char is actually saved. logging off before resets and sometimes you can log off before the server fully crashes. catch it in the lag spike and log out...i've never ever ever had this problem since i've played. i always log before everything goes down hill fast.
better to be safe than sorry.

I sold some stuff to the FD merchant prior to a crash last night. Zoned, rested and used my journal several times over the next 15 minutes or so, but no logging. After the crash, I lost my xp and the gold I received from the FD merchant, but gained the items back that I had previously sold 15 minutes earlier.
Also, some more information to chew on... I was in the Sleeth Foothills with the RK relic when the server crashed. Post crash, the RK relic magically appeared in the RK relic cradle (saved me some walking
). I thought that all the relics had been reset during the crash, but it turns out that all of the other relics had remained in the AO Relic Cradle. I think Winterhawk was also in transit with a relic during the crash. I wonder if that relic got ported to its home relic cradle as well.

dunno how many times i have said this in posts, but
the only way to effectivly save your character is to re-log
i learnded the REALLLY hard way even with resting, booking and even dying once or twice::: pre-wipe i had lost over 70,000xp from a crash when i was grinding out xp in zons...less than 24 hours later i lost and additional 20k on that same toon (yes i had a whitness who probably still remembers...he didnt get off so easy either
)
.... SO ........your 26k is petty imo
but seriously -- my suggestion is to relog at the following times:
1. every 30 - 45 minutes regardless of anything
2. when you level up
3. when you find a real nice piece of gear, especially after a planar boss or even moreso if you find a stat book.
4. after you sell or buy a load of stuff from a merchant
5. after crafting a MA level item, or a bulk of other crafted items...like wands ...etc...
Also -- people -- when xfering valuable stuff --- dont xfer lets say 5 books all at once and relog to grab your mule --- the server tends to crash at the worst possible time.. ( Karma
) ...and always remember , guild chests are not immune to crashes
i would rather spend the minimal ammount of time to relog frequently when playing, rather than take the chance of getting pWnd and loosing out on hours of gameplay time..... the journal/resting strategy does not always save you from a crash, BUT the relogging method has yet to fail me.

I believe this was my fault.
I used a book on Paris, my appologies to all affected.
It seemed as though it should have worked fine; I used it near a rift shard, the server only had about 20 people on. The server logged me out and back in with no problems, but crashed immediately after I got back in. Maybe next time I need to wait for a reset. I'll do my best to wait from now on.
Again, sorry.

We'll find out soon enough, I'm not out of books by any means...
How about a warning on shout? We could test it, you know, in the name of science...

aye , good idea indeed, players shouting that they are going to use a book, respawn their dead shifter...etc....
