Dm rating system

anybody else think it would be a good idea to institute a DM rating system? i mean, some DM's seem to be around to harass players instead of helping and having fun. Some DM's actually hold events and do stuff. Why should they all feel they are on the same level? shouldn't we give the good DM's doing stuff some reinforcement for there actions? Plus it would give the Gods that decide who is gonna be a god some feedback on how their choices are turning out. I give anybody that reads this 10-1 odds on in game gold that this thread will be deleted or locked asap. Read it quick boys and girls.

the post mentions no DM in particular or any incident, but since you bring up Auril i will respond. he has been doing a better job lately in my opinion and would not recieve basement marks on my DM ranker.

Oh definately.. i think it would be great..It would also tell them who was appreciated.. Herald of the Balance was wonderful for example but there have been other gods that as you say really only harrass a players game time and it would be great to give some thank yous to the DMs that make fun events. It would be nice to let them know how much we really appreciate the "fun" things they do for us.

When you know people who log off in tears ..that's a sign that the DM did not enhance their fun and I think they should be able to be rated accordingly.

I'm against it. What do they have to prove to us? Last time I checked I ain't paying anybody here, so I'm fine. Unless of course I get perma-banned for smiling in front of a two-headed frog for no apparent reason, but meh, it happens

It's incredible. The old crap about censoring and banning or booting begins anew. Sure the Gods do sometimes make mistakes. After all they're only humans right? Oh my, blasphemy

Get real, people, it's only a game. If you want to have your own perfect world, create one yourself and impose YOUR rules there. If not, go along with the ones they created and imposed.
You may not like something, ok, PM one of them, but don't make it public, this will only make things escalate. They will most likely discuss it. If you insult them, dont count on it tho.

If you get no love from them tho. Don't start comparing to other players. Or tell them how they favourite the others. This won't get you anywhere! Why? Well they might have favourites, but they try hard not to show it. Do make it clearer even fathers have one if they have several children. And they really try hard to treat all the same. Do they manage? Most of the time.

You really have to act like a BIG woolhead on this server to get a lifetime ban. Only a few players come to my mind who got that far. Everybody else is back after a short time. Don't whine about it please.

Or they might really begin to act like you are describing them. Alleatory and Nazi censoring random stuff. They don't do that often yet. But they might get tired. Then beware the revenge ;D.

I wouldnt mind being able to just leave positives to those who do well.. even points...no negatives necessary.

I will be the "Bad Guy" to lock this.

This idea is wrong in so many ways ... and here's why:

We slave to run events for you - you love us.

(And yet, there are always those who complain).

You leave us no choice but to chastise you - you hate us.

(And of course, we 'harass' and 'abuse' our authority by doing this).

We shower you with rewards and such - you love us again.

(Still, there are always those who think that 'this is not enough' or are simply 'disappointed' with what they get).

You ignore our warnings (however concilliatory they may be) and force us to act on insolence or outright disregard of our warnings - you hate us again.

(And again, we are either harassing or abusive - of course).

So according to this, it is inevitable that every DM sooner or later gets high grades (love!) - and then eventually gets dropped for having to 'enforce' discipline (hate!). Even worse - since no one is ever pleased at the same time and for the same things, every DM would be 'tanking' in the bottom ranks in quite a short time.
