Locking of threads

What is it with the arbitrary locking of threads? Aren't forums places for exchanges of ideas? To ask questions? But it seems there are a few individuals that will lock a thread for no other reason than they do not like the responses. Well, guess what...that was tried a long time ago and that whole scene ended badly for most involved. It was Nazi germany. I can see deleting posts and such for profanity, racism or sexism just to name a few. But that is something that is rarely seen here. So why the power trip? Do you not get enough out of controlling the game? You have to control the flow of ideas as well? Most of us who are playing live in the United States as far as I can see. So where is the 1st amendment? I am fairly certain that the other players here that do reside in the United States do live in a country that embraces free speech as well. I haven't seen any players from China or Iran that would be used to censorship. Rarely has any good come from censorship. I wait to see how long it takes to lock this thread.

Most recently locked threads:

1. "Fon invitation" - requested locked by its creator
2. "Cloaks" - questions/statements made were already answered, the thread didn't really have any reason to be... read the first post.
3."Apology" - the issue is behind us
4."risk of lvl loss on crash" - topic has been ground into the... ground use search, oh, and items/xp will not be replaced. End of story.

Threads are locked for a reason.

Locked because everyone who is unlucky enough to read this will actually get dumber.

Threads get locked because there are quite a few people out there now who just go round randomly spamming threads.

Next time someone searches for answers we'd like to think they don't have to wade through all the spam to get a sensible answer.

Powertrip??? Woooo yeah I feel like THE man everytime (which is very rarely) I do it - thanks for boosting my ego with this one.

Zing has a point, and COME ON, using the lame Germany response has been done to death, be more creative and mention Soviet Gulags or the killing fields of Cambodia. Use something besides the lame throwback of Nazi Germany if you're going to complain about "powertrips ect..."
