Rules of Engagement
i know most of you will ignore this but meh
IMO if someone is fighting a mob that mob belongs to them. i find it REALY rude to have some toon come up and start taking my kills wether this is aginst server rules or not i cant say but alot of people do find it rude. most will prolly tell the person to quit or attack the offender immeadtly ( i do both i tell them to bugger off or whatnot and if they dont ill try and kill them )
if you intend to kill said person with the mob around them ... wait for a min or whatever so they can kill the monsters so you dont accidently make them die from the mob and not yourself. making players die from monsters IS aginst server rules as i know them.
following these "rules" i have written here will avoid sutch situations and possibly a ban if you let the other player die to the mob granted most first offenses are just a warning and all but better to be safe than baned right?
if you have something CONSTRUCTIVE to add please do so

I play it that way except I have no interest in pvp so I don't attack them even if they start taking my kills. If they do and don't say anything beforehand I consider them obnoxious and I move on from there a few screens to give them and myself "space".
If they are polite and say "do you mind if i help?" I usually say no and more often than not we group up.
Sometimes though it can be difficult especially if your summon runs off and starts hoeing into them or you are at range and pop a few arrows in thinking the mob may be attacking a forest creature and so on.
A friendly notice of "Mate do you mind? I have been bashing away for a while here" or some such should be enough. Usually from the response or lack there of you find the type of player behind the toon and act accordingly.

If somebody did that to me I would be sure to do it back to them at least once. Some people are just jerks and thats how they roleplay. Its a fine line ,who wants to party with a jerk? If you can't party you can't get very far can ya? I've done some pretty nasty to certain players but only in good {evil} fun or payback. Sometimes it the only way I could take the other toon down. Its defenitely not fair but highlvl toons raging up and down giant mountain isnt fair either and that happens constantly.
I've gone over the materials and haven't found anything saying its a bootable offense ,just that it is severely frowned upon. Its happened to me a couple times in the past 2 weeks and I was frowning
I'd say more than once any toon doing that to your toon should be reported and possible discipline reprecussions.

if i am not mistaken it is under the rules of harrasment to kill mobs that a lower level character is killing. IE if there are lower level toons on the mountain and a 33rd lvl toon runs up before/after/or during their trip up killing everything knowing they have nothing to gain by doing so its considered harrasment and people have been banned for this. i know for a fact atleast one person has been banned for this exact thing.
there is no such rule. and we have lvls notice turned off. so there is no way of knowing what lvl your ENEMY is.
why does my style of play have ANYTHING to do with how i became a DM.
you can get mad because i decide to PK my enemies on A PVP server. BUT that has nothing to do with me as a dm.
i say kill ALL red and let the active dm sort out the bodies. may my blade be swift and your death horrible..

this is basicly it.
if u do anything ON POURPOS with the intent to RUIN smeone eles fun that is harassment.
I will steal mobs all the time. but usually after I kill the group. and if I go straight for the group and he or the monster kills me oh well.
vise versa. if u go to a mob with all intentions of using them to pk others with xp loss then yes. that is way way not allowed.
and revenge logging should cover what the fon said above. mostly cause that is intentionally ruining there fun

I agree that using a mob to kill another player is cruel and unusual punishment but then the XP penalty for death here is nothing, and yes I think that anything below 15% of required xp for a lvl is nothing as a penalty. The mountain runs made by some high lvls add a certain excitement to the adventure for me and have also given me some goals while playing on NS4. an example:
When I first started my little drow wizzy and he finally made it to ave for a run up the famous mountain I was quite taken back with the sheer scale of NS and the size of the player base, my surprise when I was wailed along with my entire party and the mob we were fighting was quickly replaced by anger followed swiftly by a deep seated need for revenge against a certain AO spell hurler. Now I find myself at a paltry lvl 31 and seek the head of this caster that is not only an enemy of my faction but someone I have had other 'encounters' with during raids and the like. This is the very kind of action the first post mentioned, dont get mad... get even
and this does not mean log a high lvl and take instant revenge, work towards it.
Now I am a new player so maybe I am not jaded yet, but I like the unexpected twists of pvp from an enemy of unknown strength and the evilness with which the dm's seem to met out "fun" to us players. Oh and for the record, I have been touched by chase and found the whole ordeal very enjoyable... besides the purple EVERYTHING that I was left wearing but then he has to have fun as well and I applaud him for being so creative in leaving a mark on a toon.
